Fake Somali Daycare Centres With No Children Pocketed Billions of Taxpayer Cash

I'd rather have one heck of a high-speed rail system, which we could easily do for the cost of the F-35.
Then there is the high speed train between LA and San Francisco which is now at 100 billion dollars with not a mile high speed track built. Sadly, this has poisoned the well for future such projects.

In my area we voted years ago for a 54 billion dollar mass transit project. The current price to completion is now 185 Billion. Yet nobody in local or state government seems to care. Ask them about it and you get excuses, attacks on the messenger, and disparaging of the reputation of those who wonder how the price could have more than tripled.

Folks, be careful when you read the responses to this issue, especially those from bureaucrats and politicians.

There are a lot of “Straw Man” arguments being made that avoid the heart of the problem. IMO, the heart of the problem is the theft of public funds by certain individuals, and the lack of adequate controls and tools to prevent such things from happening on a large scale.

Race, income level, political afflictions, personal views, immigration, etc. are not the issue.

For those who don’t know that a straw man argument is see below;

A straw man argument is a logical fallacy where someone misrepresents an opponent's position to make it easier to attack, rather than addressing the actual argument. This involves distorting, oversimplifying, exaggerating, or fabricating the opponent's stance—creating a "straw man" that is weaker and more easily refuted. The fallacy is a form of irrelevance because it fails to engage with the real issue, instead focusing on a misrepresented version of the argument. For example, if someone argues for better public transportation to reduce pollution, a straw man response might claim they want to eliminate all private cars, which is not what was originally stated.

There is zero proof that this story is anything more than a juiced up tale made by a right-wing influencer on YouTube who is not, I repeat NOT an investigative reporter. .

Given the current federal administration's crackdowns on the US's Somali communities in general and the Minnesotan community in particular, their response has been swift, hyperbolic and short on actual evidence.

Please, please, please, people. Stop taking YouTube and Tik Tok garbage influencers' BS as gospel and spreading it as thus. Use caution and double check their claims with credible sources.

Might there be some fraud in Minnesota? Of course. Just as there is likely some in every other state in the union, and every other country in the world.

It would be nice if the MSM actually did their jobs, rather than covering for the perps Easy to dismiss the journalist as nothing more than an influencer, BUT did you see the video where a MN bureaucrat claimed the day care had been closed two weeks previously.. Convenient, except the daycare “manager” also came out with a video saying the reporter got there too early because the day care didn’t open until 2 pm. Really? That’s believable. Then they had a mysterious break in and their records were stolen. Uh huh. Keep drinking that kool-aid folks.

"Might there be some fraud in Minnesota?" Come on. This is a serious problem, YouTube video aside. Close to a hundred people have been indicted and 62 convicted in fraud rings connected to school lunches, autism centers, housing and other government programs. We're talking about hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars.

This is from CBS news:

"Even before the video spread far across the internet, however, scandal plagued Minnesota. In 2021, federal law enforcement first probed a series of multimillion dollar fraud schemes. Those fraud schemes have led to federal charges against 92 people with 62 convicted — and counting."

The you tube guy didn't discover this but he did some follow up on a decade old issue that's still 'on going in fraud, investigations, charges and/or trials.

The msm media should do more frequent follow ups on stories like this to see if the perps/suspects are still at it.And ask questions like Did formal charges/convictions deter others? Was money recovered? Did the convicted make restitution? And last but not least how did the fraud get so big-who in government was in charge of oversight of those programs and what policies were in place set up to catch or deter fraud.

Some crime plagued city media seem to do little follow up on headline grapping crimes. A trial and conviction frequently gets a fraction of the time devoted to it. Every now and then someone will offer a reward for or try to put attention on a cold case but again where is follow up in the media let alone authorities.

I think we all agree now that the Nick Shirley video was sensationalized, politically motivated and possibly inaccurate as to some of the daycare centers shown.

I hope we can all agree that there is nevertheless a major fraud problem in Minnesota and that some members of the Somali community are involved in various types of fraud. This justifies stepped-up investigative activities, not condemning the whole community.

I deeply agree with not using you tubers as a reliable news source. It's hard enough to find a true news source that simply reports
without using opinion into it. If I see something on YT I look at it and it call for "Look at me" so always very biased. Even if your own news source is taking it from you tube, it's still you tube.

I'm thinking that we all know a "news" source can be found online to agree with our own thinking no matter what our views are. I wasn't familiar with one posted here, so I researched and came up with this:

AI Overview

Based on the provided search results,
Really American is a liberal-leaning political action committee (PAC) rather than a neutral, objective news source [1.2, 1.5].

  • Political Leaning: It is classified as a left-aligned, Democratic-aligned digital organization, with its funding and activities aiming to promote specific political goals [1.5].
  • Reliability: As a PAC, its primary function is to influence politics rather than provide objective, non-partisan reporting.

The source was CBS News with a retweet by Really American, at least from what I can gather. However, I don't subscribe to or engage with X/Twitter so can't say for sure.

Ah, thanks, Star. It looks from the pic as if it was the daycare owner claiming that fraud was disproved and CBS reported what he said? Oh well, one way or another, I'm sure the truth will be coming out.

Whenever you paint an entire group of people as being a certain way it’s racist and wrong.
You are confusing race with ideology. Islam is an ideology like socialism, capitalism, communism etc. and it has no
defining race. The ideology of Islam is defined by the Quran and the teachings of Muhammad. People who support these teachings are called Muslims. You are trying to paint them as a race and that is wrong and uninformed.

But I never hear anyone complain about a white Dutch woman who became muslim and walks around with head covering.
Maybe better to call it discrimination than racism. It's nasty though. I used to be on a Dutch reformed forum with mainly Dutch reformed (calvinistic) white Dutch people. A new girl made an account. Hi I was muslim and became christian. They immediately attacked her. Insane. She said: How was I to know that Islam preaches hate? That was never preached in her mosque.

When I just divorced and had no cent my muslim colleague gave me bags full of clothes. She's the sweetest ever. You can't compare that with those from Hamas that son of Hamas talks about. Australia 2 muslims started shooting and another muslim was a hero.
