wow, that's glorious....Some of my Purple Martins Spring, 2025. Their houses are cleaned out and ready for their arrival, sometime in March-April. They are a happy happy bunch and do a great job eating mosquitos.

Your pictures are wonderful! Your pictures (and anyone else's) are absolutely welcome on the smart feeder thread too!I did not want to hijack @Medusa ’s delightful Smart feeder thread, and I didn’t find a bird thread
One of my Woodpeckers this morning.

We had a woodpecker that pecked on our neighbours metal tv antenna. It was really loud and really annoying and we couldn’t figure out just ‘why’ either. We had a woodpecter that used to come and peck on the metal yard light pole. I don't know if he was just a dumb Okie bird,or if there were bugs in the hollow tube and he was trying to shake them out.
. Never could decide.

What a gorgeous bird. Cool story.Buzzards need love too. We had an Arkansas black buzzard show up with an injured wing one time. We let him stay in the shed and nursed him back to health. Got to where he'd come a running when the wife showed up with food. After he healed, he and his family would roost in our tree and then, they'd follow the wife whenever she walked the property down to the creek.
