Thought I'd share this nice story

As most know, I live in Dallas. It is big city, but I'm always amazed at how courteous people are. I can't think of any other big city I'd rather live in.

So, we were at Kohl's yesterday. Hubs bought a water bottle. We were in line for check-out and I noticed this young, attractive woman and just thought how well put together she was. I guess I caught her eye because she came up to us and asked if we were spending $20 or more. She had a coupon that she was going to give us. Unfortunately we weren't spending over $20 but I just thought the gesture was so nice.

BTW, there was another thread about men opening the door for women. I went to the gym on Friday and had a young lady hold the door open for me. I thanked her and she said "You're welcome". Maybe chivalry is dead but courtesy isn't.

That's a really nice story. :)

If I understand correctly, Texans are famously courteous. That was definitely my family's and my experience in 2007 when driving through Texas on our way to Arizona and our car broke down. I'm serious when I say that every single person we met along our mini journey of car issues was nice to us.

The person at the Comfort Inn where we broke down who didn't have a room for us and called the Sherriff for help. The Sherriff who found a room for us and drove us to the motel. The motel owner and his wife when my young son was ill that night. The taxi driver the next morning who picked us all up and the mechanic who didn't charge us to fix what turned out to be a very small problem with our car.

Texans are lovely people.

I spent a number of years in Dallas working for a major Attorney firm. I really liked it in Dallas and working in a large Legal Firm. I was amazed at how many of our clients were invested in oil. Oil was king in Dallas while I was there. Going to cookouts with real fresh meat on a spit was a real treat.
