Women admits parked illegally attending football game. Car lost from a 'courtesy' tow

A woman who attended the Philadelphia Eagles playoff game on Sunday decided to park illegally on near by street along with other illegally parked cars. Not being able to find her car after filing a stolen car report the police told her it was courtesy towed to another location. They don't know where and she and others have searched the local neighborhood to see if the car was there.

Courtesy tow or stolen? Woman still trying to find her car in South Philadelphia

No record of her car being ticketed, fined or towed by police or local code enforcement.

By the sound of it it seems the police and others are used to people parking illegally hence the courtesy tow. But who pays for these courtesy tows and why not better records. She is not the first driver to lose her car to a courtesy tow. Others have had to pay fines and/or fees from a courtesy tow.

On the other hand park illegally even on a Sunday can cause major issues which is why someone probably called for the courtesy tow. Parking in big cities stinks and I get not wanting to pay $20-40 in stadium parking fees but an illegal spot is the best she can do? But again it seems like Philadelphia and local travelers seem accustomed to 'illegal' parking.

I wish parking was that cheap for football games. The cheapest around Acrisure on a game day is $70.
Wow, shows how long since I've been to a game of any kind.

Last time at a game when paying early this century parking was $20 with some $30 lots. Last time I talked to others who still attend/go to those stadiums was 40$. I know in the past season or box seat holders could get real close parking spots for extra money.

For that price they should have waiters and waitresses on roller skates taking food orders while waiting an hour or two to get out of a stadium parking lot.
