Due to my blood pressure, I keep salty foods at a minimum, but now and then it's okay to have a sandwich made of lunch meat, Spam, etc. Same thing with sugar - too many cookies / sweets aren't okay, but I enjoy my sweets.
Life offers less as we go along to enjoy. I eat aa lot of vegetables, and restrict salt much of the time, bt I won't sit here eating unsalted, unsweetened foods day in, day out. It just depends on how a person chooses to look at this, but I plan to enjoy some things along the way. To each his own.
