Do you like the color and shape of this vintage glass bowl?

When I saw it in the SA, I wasn't sure it was a reproduction. Some Depression glass patterns are/were reproduced starting in the 1900s and sometimes antique experts can't tell the difference. I hurried home and checked my DG reference books and there was no indication that pattern had been re-issued. I went back to the shop thinking someone else had snapped it up for $3, but it was still there. I guess that speaks on how depressed the antiques market is here, or else no one recognized it as Depression glass. I only knew because my mom collected it and that made me familiar with the patterns.

I can't remember what I had for breakfast, but I know DG patterns (most of them anyway).

Probably just means that no one needed yet another old bowl in their house...

If you ever want to take a road trip, you would find this place fascinating!

Doesn't do anything for me. I prefer more modern colors and more interesting shapes. Glass chemistry and the array of available colors really progressed in the 60's. At one point in time glass formulas and class color formulas were military secrets here in the US.

For potlucks I have some random plates and bowls that I don’t care about. They’re not chipped or scratched, just things I stuck in the back of the cupboard for some unknown occasion. I prefer to use these rather than plastic.
