Bringing back cursive writing

yes there are many people of younger generations who cannot write in cursive. But I disagree that it is a basic skill - it really isn't a neccesary skill in today's world
Basic handwriting is a fundamental cognitive tool rather than merely a motor skill, serving as a critical foundation for neural development, memory retention, and literacy. Unlike the passive, uniform action of typing, handwriting is a multisensory process that engages a wide, synchronised network of brain regions, including those responsible for motor control, visual processing, and language, which directly enhances learning, improves comprehension, and boosts memory. Writing skills complement reading comprehension. They allow individuals to clearly express ideas, argue points, and share knowledge.

My gas and electric energy invoice arrived today, winter bills are always painful, but my mood was lifted by the last paragraph, a brief remark but a lovely compliment.
The energy company explained that I could save by paying by direct debit, they are aware though that only my wife and have access to our account and we want it to stay that way, but they have a duty to remind me of the saving. The remark that made me smile read:
"We don't mind if you continue to pay by cheque though, your handwriting is such a delight we pinned the envelope on our notice board."
