I think why a lot of people can't let go, like myself, is that they tried to take away our rights for what turned out to be lies. The constitutions of the world can not be paused because the govt says so!
No one had the right to make me/coerce me and others to get a vaccine, wear a mask, stay 6 feet away, prevent us from working, travel etc.
I was all for you making your choices, and I make mine. But it wasn't that way, was it. It was we were all evil for not following along. But no one thought to think that we would be the ones to suffer if we didn't go along. After all whoever got vaxxed, wore a mask, stayed home did whatever, should have noooo concerns about us. You were protected by what you did. If you weren't, then the protections you did, did not work.
As evidence of millions of tickets dropped in Ontario and Alberta, none of it was legal/lawful. 17k lawsuits against business for loss of job.
I think if they said...'hey, theres a new coronovirus that happens to be worse than the other 200 versions out there, and we think you should take precautions, possibly wear a mask, stay away from people, if you are ill, weaker or have a medical issue, and we are working on a vaccine that may or may not work, but for the healthiest people, no need to worry'...we wouldn't have cared one bit. It was the absolute tyranny of it all that I can not forget. Or forgive.
In Canada, approx 60k people died with covid/of covid over the span of whatever 'covid' was.
So over the course of 3-4 years (depending when Can declared it was over), 60k people died of/with this thing. On the govt website it says 1.2 percent fatality rate. It also says 92.8 percent were over 60, with a further 5 percent over 50. So, 97.8 percent over 50 and 97 percent of those had underlying health conditions as they call it. I guess co-morbidities now is underlying health conditions. From 0-49 there was 930 deaths and they admit underlying health conditions contributed overwhelmingly to that demographic.
So, now a bit of an off shoot. According to Health Can, 46-54k Canadians die of smoking related illnesses, and another 7-12k of second hand smoking related illness. I never have ever, nor have I seen, read or heard of people saying 'They should be denied health care', or 'that they should lose their jobs unless the quit smoking', or 'they should die', or 'they cant get on a plane smelling of smoke', etc. You get the gist!
This could also be said of alcoholics. 18k direct deaths due to liver issues, pancreas, poisoning etc. Then the vehicular deaths/crashes or violence related to alcohol another 1500-3500 or more (a big difference) (harder to prove I guess), and once again I dont see an uproar in society.
So lets take them both-which are choices-and they are approx 64k-72k PER YEAR, not over 4 years, but yearly! Over 4 years thats 250k plus - 280k plus deaths that are no ones fault but their own. I don't see a societal uproar, discrimination, degrading, shaming what have you. Nope not at all. Even though their direct actions can affect others! Nope, we just let you make your own choices however idiotic, stupid or insane they may be, but we dont care. They are your choices. The LAW states you can make those choices for your self, just like one of the most powerful choices you can make DNR when in hospital. No tells you that you are stupid or dumb or says you should be in jail for that.
I think thats the biggest thing. Is that people thought they could police others for their choices. Shame them, fire them, deny, them etc. How would the 43 percent of Canadians feel if each time we saw you smoking we told you to go home, eff off, your killing grandma with your second hand smoke, you should not be allowed to get on a bus cause you smell of smoke, and so on. They would absolutely go nuts! But it was somehow different this time.
No, it isn't any different. The law is the law. It doesn't change cause its winter, doesn't change cause of a recession, forest fires, war, natural disasters or anything. But somehow it kinda did then didn't it? I mean all the tickets were wiped out, nurses won law suits, an so on, but the fact is people tried. Thats really disappointing.
That is a really bad sign for humanity. Some forums say that most people acted just like the nazi/communist collaborators back in the bad times. And you can see how.
Very sad time that we never learned from the past. We just do it over and over again.
