I use both on my blankets and sweaters. My skin is very sensitive to some fabrics feeling itchy.
Only sheets on all else.

No.. never liked them, never saw a reason for using them.

I see them as an unnecessary, added expense. If I ever change my mind, I'd only use them for towels. My sheets are fine just as they are. Long ago, my wife used fabric softener on everything. It made my shirts too soft. I want them ironed and crisp.

I deep wash everything in hot water with the sit and soak option, and deep rinse. No soap or fabric stuff. Hang dry everything except socks and undies. Much better than a creek.

None. I would use Downy, but there is no dispenser in the washer and I am not going to pour it over my clothes. OTOH, no matter because I can only tell a difference with one item of clothing.

None, I bought dryer rubber balls. They look like doggie toys but they work very well. 3 in the package made by Black and Decker.

I was out of laundry detergent and stopped at an odd store to get me through the day. Turns out what I bought was liquid fabric softener which was visible on the label in small letters. One of the guys used it so I can't return it.

I don't use a dryer so obviously no to dryer sheets.
Haven't had any need for fabric softener.

I use fabric softener. You can tell the difference if I don't. I wear a lot of wool during the winter and conditioner is vital.
