Me and my UTIs again

Don't be upset by what I am saying now but do you use a catherer? If so, is it a permenent one?. In this scenerio you must be very, very, clean using gloves when the bag is emptied and cleaning the port with alcohlol. The bacteria will move up the cath and cause an infection.

I'd start by drinking cranberry juice every day or taking the chewies. I would ask the doctor for the strongest antibiotic he has and finish the script. Don't take baths, but do take showers and afterwards do no use any sprays, powders or the like in between your legs or anywhere for that matter. Clean yourself after using the toilet front to back to aviod bacteria.

Antibiobics can be good but also not so good. Your body learns to tolerate them making them less effective. If you get UTIs often, methenamine hippurate is another nonantibiotic alternative that helps prevent infections. Keep a journal on who when where what it comes on.

A urethroplasty (widening the urethra), is a surgicial procdure that can help widen the opening making it easier to have free flow and so on.

I know you mostly likely know all this but I wanted to throw my 2 cents in. Take care and be well, I know what a pain these things are.

My wife used to have UTI's the doc prescribed an anti biotic that helped for a little while. Key words little while.

Fed up with no continued relief I took her to the hospital. There they diagnosed why her anti biotics wasn't working. Prescribing the biotic to the specific strain she had cured her from further instances of UTI's. Not all antibiotics are the same.

Been having several UTIs. Just stopped meds for another...but still have symptoms and home test is positive. Need to call dr tomorrow for more meds
It's NOT easy to prevent UTI once your system did not eliminate all of the bacteria from your body. I used to have UTI often in my mid 20's to 30s'.
I still remember 'excruciating pain' and also 'blood' once the infection progressed.
You sound a strong person to withstand to UTI, but time might come which you're unable to do it.
We, all are old folks, not younger generation to tolerate UTI pain.
As someone, the above saying that Antibiotic med. getting less effective for recurrent UTI.
It's up to you, but I suggest to seek for Urologist who specializes UTI and related issues.

For me, as I age, my tolerance to any health issues getting less, less tolerance, even normal cold. So, I'm very careful NOT to get any diseases. I take some rest during day trying my best to avoid any illnesses.
When I broke my right foot, my Ortho.doctor told me at my old/twilight age, any surgeries have 'risk.' So, you might not be a good candidate for any surgeries, if you'd consider UTI surgery which I did in my early 30s.
bwt) my right foot healed close to got surgery.
