Nancy Guthrie's abduction on the news every day

Why?

I don't mean to sound insensitive. It is a tragedy that she was kidnapped from her home and I hope, although I doubt, that she is okay.

What bothers me is that it is a news segment every day with "little clues" without any real information. It's like people are obsessed with this case and are hanging on every little bit of evidence that is disclosed. The news seems to think these little nuggets will draw viewers.

I record the news and fast-forward through this story every day. If something is revealed that is substantial I'm happy to watch it. How many seniors go missing each day, many due to dementia, who never make news stories?

I'm disgusted with mainstream media for sensationalizing this story.

Are there two separate threads going about this 'abuction' here ?? and is that necessary?? SF VIP's can this be clarified and cleared??

I know what you mean. Some stories hook people but the media takes that and squeezes out every drop they can get. What is the family to do? They likely wish for some peace and privacy but want any fresh tips to keep coming in.
I think media interest is winding down and only the totally vested people will stick around. Me. 🙂

What I dislike even more are the social media “news stories” that have sensationalized this and outright lied, just to get clicks and likes.

These clickbait stories are ridiculous, pretend to have “breaking news” and “new details” and whatever other headlines will garner interest, when in fact they’re just regurgitating already existing information, extrapolating from same, or blatantly creating falsehoods!

When the news states they are going to give the latest update on this case, what we get is nothing significantly different from earlier reports.

I hope to be wrong, but I believe Nancy Guthrie met her demise shortly after her abduction.
Or she might have died during the abduction. There was a continuous trail of blood found from the front door, across the porch, and down the steps.

That's a creepy but likely thought..

The only 'update' I've seen recently was the family was cleared..
I HAVEN'T seen an update on the situation from a few days ago- a large yellow tarp was around the back of a vehicle, and they were taking a large bag out of the vehicle..

Otherwise, journalism isn't what it used to be.. how many news sites were stating 'DNA matched'.. while it wasn't the DNA at all, it was the glove the DNA was on..

I wish people would quit nitpicking how many posts are made of the same subject. People should be allowed to just post for crying out loud.

I agree @seadoug they make stuff like this a daily ordeal all day long. It's ridiculous. For the longest time I couldn't watch regular shows because the news took over for the whole day over stuff and it made me mad. I don't think we need to hear about it 24/7. If someone saw her they surely would've called by now.

It’s more a media story than a real story for other people.

We all hope and pray she will be found safe and returned to her family. Just as we hope people who colluded with Epstein to exploit others will be brought to justice. But, we don’t have to hear about it 24/7. In my daily routine I can’t remember the last time I heard anybody bring up the kidnapping or Epstein in normal conversation. Not once.

It’s a sad commentary on the state of today’s news media.

I agree, media outlets have no decency, there is literally nothing that they wouldn't sensationalize these days, to wring out every little bit of viewer attention(think: advertising revenue).
