Jim in Toronto Has Been in and out of Hospital for Months Now

Jim should have been hired by the Canadian travel bureau. He is a great advocate for everything Canadian. This is not meant to be an insult. Jim is very prideful of his Canadian heritage.

I hope he is getting better each day. Best wishes

March the 6th, 2026. I spent all most 11 months in 3 different Toronto hospitals. I was released last Friday the 6th of March. Man am I ever glad to be home ,again.

First let me tell all of you about my wonderful Wife Brenda. Not only is she my wife of 22 years, she is also my legal medical case manager. That means that she was at the various hospitals at least 5 days of every week, for months on end. She keeps all of my medical records and pharmacy orders on her lap top. In addition she maintains a daily spread sheet that details every medication I am taking, who prescribed it, when it was prescribed and in what amount. She spent over 30 years working in the University world, as a department manager, and since she retired in 2013 she now manages ME !

I won't bore everyone with a history of my medical problems. A life of hard work, long hours in the northern cold, and smoking and drinking, finally caught up to me. I quit smoking cold turkey ten years ago, and in 2021 I stopped drinking alcohol. Being in the hospital eating a no salt diabetic diet for all most a year, resulted in my body weight going down to about 170 pounds as of this past Friday. When I was working full time my weight was between 220 and 250 pounds. So now I weigh less than when I was playing high school football as a full back at age 17.

I am so very thankful to read all the encouraging posts from all of you. THANK YOU ALL> JIM B in Toronto.

@jimintoronto may the best medical care find you and provide a listening ear and knowledgeable treatment.
Thank you for your kind words. I was in Toronto General Hospital for a part of my medical care. TGH was just voted the SECOND best hospital in the world. Mayo Clinic in Ohio is number one ranked by the World Health Organization. Sick Children's Hospital was rated number 2 in the WHO rankings, with Boston Children's rated number one by WHO>
