In L.A. I was quite fond of Pastrami Sub Sandwiches.
Moving to the mid-west, those were hard to find.
Moved to the Chicago area I found the next best thing Italian Beef Sandwiches.
Moved to Virginia and both were hard to find.
Been back in Missouri for nearly 3 years and today ---- today what do I see in the freezer section
A big Ol' tub of Italian Beef!! I am on cloud nine here, guess you know what's for dinner.
Being Walmart you never know when something will disappear off the self, so if you like Italian Beef
and haven't seen it check in the frozen meat isle.

Wow, what a journey for your taste buds! Italian Beef from the freezer sounds like a real treat. Do you make it the classic way with giardiniera, or do you like it just simple and savory?

When you lived in L.A., did you have a favorite spot for pastrami subs, or was it more of a homemade thing?

I’ve never tried the frozen version myself, how does it compare to fresh from a deli? Do you serve it on rolls or do you have another favorite way to enjoy it? It sounds like you’ve really found a little piece of home again.

Nothing beats fresh, but when fresh is not been near you for years, ya do what ya gotta do. Simple and savory at home, beef is too expensive
for me to play around with so I go for the sure thing.
In L.A. there was a place called Douglas Burgers, they piled the pastrami on high, always fresh and spiced just right for my taste buds.

The frozen tubs in Chicago were tastier than what I just bought. Here in Missouri "French Dip" is that style of preferred sub. It's good
but it's not Pastrami or Italian. It works on a dinner out when nothing else looks good on the menu.
Another lesson in living in different states has taught me is the cuts of meat are also popular by a certain region. Missourians love
pork steaks for grilling. In Chicago and the area of Virginia I lived in, you could rarely find pork steak, it was always chops more on
the shelf. I never realized how dedicated I was to a pork steak until I couldn't find one ready cut.

Have you grilled or smoked a tri-tip? That's another cut you may have to request unless you just happen to find a promotional sale
on them from Costco or someplace like that.

I had to doctor it up a bit, not much. Hubby ate the heck out it it. The tub was big and had full slices of meat not skimpy chunks.
We made close to 10 sandwiches from it so $ wise it was worth the price. I bought the big tub, got the last one in the
fresh frozen freezer in the Meat section at Walmart on this mornings run. Hubby wanted more!
