oh really so the bands in the 70's don't count?... is that correct?..I'm not sure lol.. like the 70's band Sweet for example, would they not count..? they wore really flashy clothes...

I think they could. It was just more prevalent in the 80s, but it had to start somewhere & the 70s make sense.

I think the Uk was a little bit ahead of the US with this kind of music and bands... we had them in the 70's.. they were gone by and large by the 80's.. where it was then New Romantic..

I think the US in the 70's was stil kinda doing Hippy stuff...

I was happy when it faded away & rock & disco took over. I know that sounds like a strange combo, LOL. I've always listened to country music & classical as well.

I think that "hair bands" were also called "arena bands". Big names and big venues, to go with the big hair!
