I love high gloss shined shoes! There's a real art & science to a good shine. Unfortunately shined shoes have mostly gone out of style, replaced by those sillyass overpriced canvas shoes. I still have several pair of shoes which I keep nicely shined.
I started shining mine and my dad's shoes when I was a kid. I got attracted to it by one of the local shoe shine guys in the barber shop, who not only produced a great shine, but had good rhythm with the rag. I was fascinated by the shine and the rhythm since I was a drummer.
In those days the barbers charged 75 cents or a dollar for a haircut, and the shoe shine was 50 cents. I'll guess that guy in the video charges $30 to $50 for a shine. He's good.
