Last time you wore high heeled shoes?

Around 2016 was the last time I wore
a true pair of high heel shoes. Heels
were two inches and my balance felt
unsteady. I've always loved high heel
shoes since in my 20's. In 2016, I was
62 years old. I wore them often and
probably too often. That though was
mostly in my 40s to late 40s.

My faves were this style, mine always black or red 😊

Those shoes? 1996 I think. Some guys behind me said: Look! She can't walk on them!

If you're referring to the styles like the image- never.
I wouldn't be able to stand/walk in them, plus they're bad for back and feet.

I liked shoes with platform soles, and also shoes that had larger-sized clunky heels, but not those 'spike' styles.

A couple of months ago. I went to a black tie event and had a really kick-ass dress, so I decided to buy a pair of high heels (3" heels) to look good. They didn't feel bad in the shoe store. I looked good, but my feet were in AGONY the entire night. Finally, I gave up and just took my shoes off and walked around barefoot.

Note: I wasn't the only one barefoot......

Next time I have to dress up, I'm wearing dressy FLATS.

Like probably most of us, I used to wear them a lot, loving the look of course. At end of day though, that is first thing I kicked off before ditching uhm some other pieces of clothing. I mean ouch.

Always too at least a low heel.

Last time? Probably at a wedding. But at a wedding I always brought a pair of socks. Then once we hit dance time in the evening, those shoes were put away and the socks went over the hose. I'd still be in a dress and hose but socks went on. And then I DANCED.

I don't wear anything with heels these days and wouldn't. I prefer comfort and safety.

I always loved a good pump but that was far from the only heel I loved. I had a thing for shoes and jackets/coats. Owned many of each. For all fashion really but shoes and jackets, big time.

That is WHEN fashions were good ones. Lol. Classics are always good which is why the pump, high or low heeled, or flat will always be around imo.

It's been decades. I came down with heel spurs. The first podiatrist I saw told me I'd have to start wearing rubber soled shoes. I have low heeled pumps that aren't so, but since they are usually worn only for a few hours at dressy occasions, I don't have much of a problem. I even wore slippers to a classical concert by young Muslim musicians where I knew the "sisters" and "brothers" would be decked out. I'd probably fall out of high heels now. :ROFLMAO:

The slippers bottom left are what I wore to the concert. They are flat with rubber soles.

That style was my favorite too. Had all the autumn colors. I wore heels on a daily basis before I retired in 2000.
I was fifty then. Although towards the end they became sit down shoes. I wore them in the office at my desk.
I changed to tennies to walk to and from the parking lot.

I retired to be a caretaker for multiple family members and started a business. Afterwards I wore them occasionally to sit down occasions. After awhile I no longer had a sit down life. So I havent worn them in a while. I kept a few pairs of lower ones just in case.
I let go of all the higher ones cause my feet expanded. Another one of the trials of aging. :D

The last time I wore heels was around 2016/2017 now that I think about it. I know I wore my running shoes to & from the event putting them on before going in.

I had two pairs of like-new plain toed 2" heels that were in neutral colors so they could go with most everything. I tried them on a couple of years ago when I went into a closet cleaning frenzy & found they weren't wide enough to be comfortable. I need to replace them so I have something nice to wear if needed, but I'm undecided on what to replace them with. I did keep a pair of 1 1/2" kitten heel booties that I wear with slacks. I find that kitten heels are more comfortable to wear than regular heels.

95% of my time now is in New Balance running shoes that have a lot of cushion for my back. The other 5% is hiking boots, snow boots or barn boots.
