Borough market, I had almost forgotten, so different from Petticoat Lane, a lot posher too, there's nothing to match them where I live now.
Nothing to match them here in my little market town either..... but I enjoy going to Borough market when I go into the city, which sadly is all too few now. I must make the effort and go again soon

I have pictures I've taken of Borough market over the years , but can I find them?...nope... I can find pictures of Camden market.. and every market abroad ..but I can't find Borough market and I know I've taken pictures in the past. I'll keep looking

That looks like the kind of place I would absolutely love! There *must* be a good story behind the look you're getting in pic #5! :giggle: Excellent photos, as always, @-Oy-
it is a wonderful place.. it has all speciality foods in loads of stalls ... it has several cafes, and bars.. it's the best market in London... but of course it gets seriously mobbed ...I'm sure you would love it ...

I've always wondered who buys those big cheeses, I suspect local bars and restaurants.... You do get to taste a little a bit of some of the cheeses... the Hams are something lse as well
Time has moved on ofcourse, but back in the day when London E7 was our address, there was a great pub/restaurant that was very popular, they had an extensive cheese selection in a glass cabinet which always had a cheese wheel and, invariably quite a gap in the wheel. They had, I remember, a centre page write up, possibly an advert, but written as a critique. It featured in the former London Evening News. Any Londoners remember The Evening News?
