Had the first good cup of Tea in my life, today.

I never thought much of hot tea. But then I always bought the bland brands (Lipton, Tetley).

But today I came across some tea that my daughter must've had in the house back when she used to live here.

The brand is Twinings. There were a few flavors to choose from. But I tried the Irish Breakfast Black Tea.

It smelled good but, like all tea, it seemed to lack a strong flavor. But once I finished it, the after taste was wonderful and there was real satisfying feeling.

Then I started talking with an Irish accent. That was unexpected.

I'll have to try it. I always wanted an Irish accent!

It's not all that it's cracked up to be. Nobody understands what I'm saying. And I'm tired of repeating myself.
One of the dumb things that many Americans do, that ruins a proper pot of tea is........They don't use an electric kettle to BOIL the water. Heating water in a micro wave oven does not bring the water to a boil. Second error is not letting the tea steep in the pot, for at least 5 minutes, then pour it into warmed tea cups. Third error is not having or using a tea pot cozie/cover, to keep the tea warm in the pot for the second pour. JIMB>

A few other brands/types of tea for you to try. Earl Grey, Yorkshire Breakfast tea, Canadian Red Rose pekoe, Tetley's special blend. Mother Parker's Canadian black tea. By the way Earl Grey was a real person, who was at one time, the Governor General of Canada. He was a devoted sportsman, and he donated the trophy which is known as The Grey Cup, which is the championship that the teams in the Canadian Football League play for every year. JIMB>

well how can I describe it..?... just tastes like they've swept the tea up from the floor..

BTW do bear in mind that Tea goes..off.. seriously... and it tastes horrible when it does. Pay attention to the best before dates...
That's interesting. My daughter hasn't lived here for at least 10 years. So the tea bags are at least that old.

agreed to all..... however only let the tea steep in a pot if you like strong tea...if you prefer tea weak as I do...then make it with a teabag in the mug an dwhip that teabag out quickly

Never been a fan of the popular advertised teas. I like the off brands you don't really see on tv or don't see much of on tv. I enjoyed the Republic of Tea ones the best but they're wicked expensive.
I'm the same but opposite to you.altho' I love tea... I never buy advertised tea like you......only every buy supermarket own brand tea because I like tea so weak... it would be criminal to buy expensive teas..
