What Are Your Easter Plans?

Its just another day of the year for us. As a non religious family, we do have a family lunch on the Sunday. None of my Wife's grown children or grand children have ever been "church goers". We got married in a civil ceremony at City Hall here in Toronto. Same for all 3 of her adult children. JIMB >

Like @Buckeye mentioned, my holidays are mainly made up of memories these days and I’m fine with that.

I’ll tune into Seacoast church services online at 8:00am.

Fix a small but traditional meal with minimal leftovers, maybe a packet or two for the freezer.

I really try not to load up the house with holiday treats and I am gradually getting better at it.

I have all of the basics for a nice meal except a cabbage for salad and a single serving dessert of some sort.

My daughter and future son in law will spend the night Saturday. I have stuffed cabbage rolls in the freezer so on Sunday I'll use those with spring rice, fresh asparagus from the garden and cucumber salad.
I have a carrot cake mix to use up so I'll make cookies with cream cheese icing.
My younger daughter's birthday is on Easter and she requested to just have a quiet family dinner at home.. They are the only ones of us that attend church. I'll see them the next week.
My son did is in Iceland
Easter is actually usually great weather so a good time to get together and enjoy food and company.

My daughters' birthday and mine are right after Easter this year.. so we will not be doing anything at Easter, but we've got a big lunch to go to for our joint birthdays at an upmarket restaurant.... the following week...

It's gonna be brilliant as long as I an get fuel to get there... and that's looking more and more unlikely

Just another day here and Easter is hardly noticed. It does have one advantage though. The supermarkets have some great food bargains and if you have a good freezer, you can enjoy half price living for months.
Go right now... all the Big supermarkets are selling veggies for pennies... 2 kilos of potatoes for 8pence in aldi and lidl.. Sainsbury 15p... parsnips, onions carrots ..the same.. only for the next 3 days...so be quick
