I had no idea. I don't do much for movies, TV, etc. If it's not on Netflix or Prime or YT, I'm not likely to ever see it.

Two episodes into the series, I'm liking it. Of course it's fiction and fiction is never true to life but there's already mystery or unknowns. Not sure what the movie was about or how it ended so I can't say if it's got the same premise or a different one..

If I had to guess, maybe it's a continuation of the movie...?

If it's about a lawyer that worked from his car then I'm guessing yes. Idk as I haven't seen it yet.

We finished Detective Hole this evening. The early episodes pulled me in, though the show had a habit of blasting loud music whenever it needed filler, which got distracting. Around episode five it began to lose momentum, and new characters started appearing with little setup, which made the narrative feel a bit scattered. Maybe that’s just me. It’s undeniably a dark series, though. And I will say the voice dubbing was impressively done, the synchronization with the actors was remarkably clean.

Yeah kind of. It starts out where supposedly he'd been not doing anything and the Lincolns (the cars) were in storage... He has two ex wives if not three... A daughter...

He's not managing life at all. His one ex wife is running his business or practice or something and trying to keep it afloat and gets a call that he has been called to meet with a senior judge, appellate judge or something like that? Big time judge anyhow... And they are wondering why and ex says maybe it's a good thing...

Clean yourself up and take the Lincoln (the car or one of the Lincolns)... So he does and finds that an attorney he knew just died (shot, that's unsolved...) had left him his practice in his will... They KNEW each other but he never expected such a thing... So he inherits this huge case from him AND all his other cases... At the same time cops are investigating that attorney's murder... Just two episodes in and I could tell even more how active it all is...

Even smaller cases, he has an appearance like in minutes, etc... in a case he knows nothing about that he inherited...

He didn't PLAN on working or going back to being an atty but it's kind of thrown on him and he has the choice...

I think that's enough lol but this is all from just two episodes... He hires one woman he got off from charges to be his driver of the Lincoln lol. So he yes, can do this work in his car...

So does this match up with anything in the movie??

The music is much too loud. It spoils the show. I don’t know who made the decision to blast it.

Just finished episode 6, so will have two more evenings to finish it.
 
I like to research certain facts about some of the movies I watch, like where was it filmed, when was it made, names of the actors, etc. In particular I will often see an actor/actress that looks familiar and I have to look to see what other movies or shows I might have seen that person in. There's a great site for this called IMDB (Internet Movie Database). Put in the name of the movie or TV show you are watching and it will bring it up with tons of relevant facts and trivia about the show.

I just started watching a series called One Piece on Netflix. Apparently It's about a wannabe pirate boy who grows up and starts seeing that dream come to fruition. Not something I would think I'd be interested in at all, but I was curious while perusing what series are available and watched the trailer. I like the actors (none of whom I'd seen before), the diversity of the cast and the surprising strange power the main character has. I like the energy Inaki Godoy, the actor who plays him, brings to the character. There promises to be some fun creatures, as well. I haven't even finished the first episode yet, but so far it's entertaining, so just might be a keeper.

The 2011 movie with McConaughey is based on Connelly's first Lincoln Lawyer novel (2005). The 2022 series starts with the second novel, The Brass Verdict, and goes from there, oftentimes combining stories from several novels.

I really enjoyed the movie. And I liked the first couple of seasons of the series, but it gradually got more woke as it went on, which is different from the books. Also Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haler is written too far from Haller's character in the novels. He's too saintly, almost pious with his ethics. The guy is engaging enough, but too sickly sweet. His secretaries and investigator are also much different from the books.

Oh I'm totally sucked into the series. I'm now many episodes in. Maybe if I'd seen the movie first I wouldn't be but I find it very full of twists and turns and right now he is in an ethical dilemma and twist for an atty I could never have imagined... I didn't see it coming. Neither did he lol...

I haven't seen how that turns out yet...

I didn't see the movie so maybe that plays in.

I used to read books and then see a movie for them and I was like NO. This isn't right. So if something like that, I get it. But I find it very entertaining with some major twists one can't see coming. For fiction anyhow.

I only heard there was a movie after starting the series. I'm really liking the series though. Last night with the new dilemma and even b4 I could have kept going and going but couldn't keep my eyes open any longer. I'm finding it very entertaining. If I was comparing a movie to the series maybe I'd feel differently but I never saw the movie. Still I don't think I would if judging them independently. I mean it's fiction not fast and loose with real life or facts.

I recommended it to a friend and she had seen the movie and mentioned it was McConaughey. SHe had not seen the series. I recommended but she hasn't looked at it yet.

I didn't see the books or movies first and am in the first season and I'm liking it but I DO GET when you are used to one character in a role, saw a movie first or read the book how one might feel as I've been there. Generally though I feel that way more about true life things where they take too much fake license. But yes, if there were books, of course. I'm not into the later seasons yet but I am into double digits in episodes and I find it pretty entertaining with some good twists.

Pious? LOL. I think a lot of LA and this country could use a bit of that. And he was coming out of rehab and drug problems when the show started so not like he's pure. With more than one ex wife too.

It's fiction.

However, I get if maybe you saw something else on it where it might not hit you right. I didn't though. I'm liking it very much.
