A little bit rare for a Series or Movie to Focus on Older Persons

I came across an unusual series about an elderly Japanese man who finally retires and goes on adventuresis it only on Netflix?
discovering new things, especially new food. Title is Samurai Gourmet. Trailers on youtube don't do it justice.

An excellent fiction movie about Dementia is the movie Mr Holmes, give it a look.

My favourite old curmudgeon has to be John Thaw as the original Inspector Morse. John Thaw’s Inspector Morse is a masterpiece of television, portraying a brilliant yet deeply flawed, lonely intellectual navigating complex murders in Oxford. Thaw brought a raw, melancholic humanity to the character, combining a sharp, curmudgeonly demeanor with a love for opera, poetry, real ale, and crossword puzzles.

Oh, come on, @horseless carriage ... fess up... you really just want to take a drive in his Jaguar! ;-P

The movie, Sisu, is a fantastic action thriller set during the Lapland War of 1944, where the main character is an elderly Finnish gold prospector and former commando who has to defend himself and the gold nuggets he dug up against a brutal Waffen-SS platoon who are determined to kill him and steal his gold.

The main character, the old dude, is played by Finnish actor Jorma Tommila. Sisu is a Finnish word that means something like undying determination. Jorma nails it...going around blowing up SS nazis left and right. His family was slaughtered by the nazis, and he just wants his gold so he can live out the rest of his life in peace.

@Mizmo, thanks for the reminder about the George Gently series— I was racking my brain for a Brit detective show I hadn’t seen in a while and that fits the bill! 🙂
McDonald and Dodds
You might like to take a look at this one.
He is not so old but 'different'

McDonald & Dodds is a charming, "cozy" British crime drama series (available on platforms like BritBox and Fandango at Home) set in Bath, featuring a mismatched pairing of a sharp, ambitious DCI and a brilliant but shy, old-school detective. Critics enjoy the lighthearted, scenic escapism, frequently praising Jason Watkins' endearing performance as DS Dodds.

I am presently watching reruns of the series Inspector George Gently played by Martin Shaw.
He was already in his sixties when the series started.
Still Luv it
