Looking for a place to live decently on only 1300 a month social security disabilty

Currently in Washigntod DC in a 300 sq ft. terrible apt. Huge rent subsidy pays two thirds of the rent. I pay only 300 a month.
Really sick of the mutlitculutral trend in my city, the drugs, the violence, the rudeness, the attitude.
but I dont' want to live in a backwards or really rural place like the Bible Belt, either
I like not needing to own a car to run errands.

I am considering keeping my citizenship but moving somewhere relatively cheap, like Albania. Anyone doing this?
Not much helpful guidance anywhere on line to emigrate anywhere.

I applied for such type of senior housing last month. They have a waiting list. They told me between 6 months and a year is the waiting time.

It seemed like a clean and quiet place. I didn't see an apartment. They show you one when your name comes up.

Decades long waiting list in my majority broke majority black city

This may come as a shock to you.....But foreign countries usually require that YOU have skills and education that they NEED to have. What foreign languages can you speak, read and write ? What actual working skills do you have, that would result in you being hired to work, outside of the USA? You mentioned Albania ? Can you even find it on a world map ? JIMB>
 
Writing off the Bible Belt right off the top tells me you know nothing about it. I am agnostic. Have lived South of the Mason Dixon for 40 years.

I traded the insanity of N. VA for the peace. The lack of never ending traffic. And have never regretted it.

That lady, I am looking for a place not majority populated by people who are uneducated, loud, violent, inconsiderate, lazy, and likely to be dealing or addicted to drugs. Culture, not race, but thanks for incorrectly assuming and showing YOUR bias.

Thanks for the snide sarcasm, it speaks volumes about you, Jim.
I am well aware, which is why, having done research, Albania is on the list, not having such restictions, and most of the residnets speak English.
As the OP states, I wish to live on my pension, not looking for a job.

I choose to be a realist, not delusional. You can be happy addicted to heroin. You can eat sand in a desert and tell yourself you are not dying of thirst. I dont' choose that type of path.
But thanks for relating your relocation story and offering practical advice, it's appreciated.

I have not been inside a sewer, but I've smelled one when I walked past an open manhole cover.
Pretty sure I dont' want to be surrounded by superstitious people.
 
Where are these wild assumptions coming from? I've yet to run across anyone fitting that description. What I've found are warm, generous, kind people of all stripes.

Maybe you should be looking closer to home.
