One down, one to go

Eyes that is.
Got the cataract surgery on my right eye as well as a Toric lens.
So far so good, and the procedure wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
For the first week, I have to sleep in the recliner to keep my head at a 45° or so angle.
also have to wear an eye shield when I sleep.
They say it will take 4-6 weeks to get the eye to 100%, and I'm having the second one done 2 weeks after the first one.
I'm looking forward to having good vision.
If you ever get the chance to get it done, go for it.

Thanks Cornhusker, good luck and please keep us posted. I'm getting cararacts removed soon. I can't sleep sitting up! Really dreading this!

Not everyone has to sit up to sleep during the initial healing period.

You do have to follow the doctor’s instructions implicitly, whatever they are for you.

I had both eyes done two weeks apart and for me it was remembering to strictly follow the eye drop schedule.

Thanks, Imogene. Most of the time I'll be applying the drops myself. So I'll ask for plenty of extra drops for when I miss.

Yup, the sitting up is the Topic lens.
That is good to know. Although I can sleep half sitting up (I did after heart surgery and slept on my back which I don’t normally do), but hopefully I won’t have to do it again. The wait list for cataract surgery can be up to a year here. I'm glad to hear your surgery went well.
