How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2026....

I went on a short 2-night trip over the weekend and met my grand-nephews (3 and 5 yrs) for the first time. I hadn't seen some of the family since maybe 2009, and other than my daughter I hadn't seen the others since 2015, and it was the first time in 3 years seeing my daughter (in real life vs face time). I found out my brother had married his SO 14 years ago and never mentioned it, so I have a "new to me" sister-in-law!

It was all very busy, noisy, crowded, and cheerful, my ex-sister-in-law is an amazing hostess.

The plane rides to and from were completely packed and I was in the cheapest economy which was like being in steerage, even the plane bathroom in our section was so small my shoulders touched the walls on both sides, I can't imagine how larger people could even fit in.

I'm finally (since getting home) beyond the 'soft foods' stage of post-tongue-biopsy (tho not yet allowed to eat crunchy and hard foods). I've still not gotten the pathology results of the biopsy, so I emotionally swing back and forth from optimistic that life will resume as normal and pessimistic that life as I've known it will be over. The follow up appointment is tomorrow so if I don't hear today I expect to surely get the results tomorrow.

I've also come down with a cold since getting home, I blame exposure to children! ha!

@Pepper - it's fantastic to hear that you are home!

Afternoon all, on my early walk at 6:50am, temp was 28 ,yes it was cold but no wind or snowflakes as I strolled around building complex. I happened to look up saw half moon as the sun was rising
My mid morning walk around 10:30 was bit warmer 43 as I walked across the street by signal light, then strolled down 2 long blocks, turned around came back the other way. That's been my exercise for the day
Tonight after tackling today's NYT crossword puzzle, I plan to watch at 8pm on PBS' Nova' about baby elephants
I hope everybody are having a good day

What a day! I took my aunt out to lunch to use my gift card. The tab came to $35.31 plus a $5 tip. That left a balance of $15 for us to kick in.

I also woke up to a cold house...AGAIN. Restarted the furnace. When I got home from lunch a neighbor came out and said he had seen a puff of black smoke come out of my chimney and a smell like fuel oil, so I called the oil company and they sent a tech out in the afternoon. He was he almost 2 hours. I could her sounds like a vacuum cleaner going. After all that, he said he really couldn't see anything wrong - just some soot around the burner which he removed (probably the vacuum sounds I heard).

So there you go.

~Starting at 3 a.m., I scooped the litter box, dry Swiffered the floors then readied the garbage for my son to take out on his way to work.
~ I updated our spreadsheets with recent charges and cash back tallies.

~Cleaned up the kitchen which was a hot mess! I had to load and run the dishwasher twice.

~ Refilled three pill cases. When I went to change the day for a weekly pill in one of the cases, it turned over and pills spilled out on the table. A couple fell on my lap and the floor. Good thing I disinfected the table before I started. Of course I discarded the others.

~Besides catching up with other threads, I spent some time going through the Music forum and posting appropriate videos in several of the threads. Just felt like sharing some music today.

Good morning. I arrived home Sunday afternoon. Yesterday I met my nurse who will care for me three times a week. Also yesterday my family came over to help with laundry and shopping. Also got out for a bit to neighborhood park.

I will be getting an at home aide. Also a physical therapist and occupational therapist.

My cats are very attentive and loving. My son takes care of their physical needs.

I am exhausted from nearly six months away. I have to learn to take care of myself again. I got up at five. Make my coffee. My coffee is very good. Took blood sugar and morning meds. Watched a soap opera Beyond the gates.

Listening to the news. Will dress soon and eat breakfast. I must remember to eat well. My Dil yesterday made me a bunch of hard boiled eggs. I have cold cereal and lots of breads.

Thank you all for the support. Words aren’t enough.

Great news, Pepper! Welcome home.

There was a leak under my kitchen sink on Saturday. The repair man never returned my call. There are other sinks in the house but it is amazing how often I need the one in the kitchen. Cooking Easter dinner was a challenge. Long story short. My neighbor's ex husband just left after replacing the whole unit. When I asked what are the damages he said it has been taken care of. My neighbor and her ex took care of the whole thing. i cant believe it. It brings real tears.

I forgot to show you, the little tearoom I found today. It was in the town 2 towns from here.... but at the end of the high street where I rarely ever go... it was very nice in there

I asked the girl how long they'd been open and she said they'd been there almost a year but she agreed it just doesn't get the footfall that the rest of the same street does nearer the centre...

It proves there are very good people out there.

Good morning Peeps of SF.... 🌞

Another warm day today... 21 deg c (70 f) ..but not as sunny as yesterday..

Last night was sooo hot in bed.. I'm going to have to take the winter bedding off today... and change to summer

Today I'm staying home. I'm expecting a call from the hospital to discuss my Biopsy results... and also.. I have a long drive at the weekend, so I don't want to make my hip ache before then, by not resting after yesterdays' jaunt, and driving too much...

Have a super Thursday folks.... 🌷

Morning all, on early walk at 6:50 temp was 50,with a bit of breeze as I walked around the building once before breakfast, today's forecast p.sunny/breezy with scattered rain in afternoon, highs in 60's
My plans today, friend Mary picking me up at 9:30, our 'road trip' this week, to bank&Target
When I get back call the accounting firm to see if my taxes are ready at the front desk to be picked up. If so I'll take Gates van, hope to get another walk in before the rain comes
After lunch & nap, read today's NYT,have my weekly get together dinner with the guys in dining room at 5:30
Everybody have a great day

I got the call , my Biopsy shows no cancer.... yeaaah.... (y)

The dermatologist said that they had to cut very deep into my leg.. and that's why now 4 months on it's still not healing well.. so she gave me some ideas on what to do to encourage it to heal and that to to expect it to take a year !

At least I know now and it stops me worrying that something might be wrong..

It was quite amusing, my daughter had just rung me on the landline 2 minutes before .. when the hospital rang on my mobile with the results.. and so I held both phones near each other so my daughter could hear exactly what the specialist was saying.. saved me having to explain it all to her, because she always gives me a ton of questions about every medical issue...and I don't always remember.....:D

Great news about the biopsy, @hollydolly; I'm happy for you!

Not much is going on here. It's overcast this morning, and I'm having a hard time getting motivated to do anything, even with coffee.

I'm concerned about an online friend of nearly a dozen years from a different forum. I haven't heard from her, or seen her on the forum, in several weeks. I emailed her a couple of days ago to check in and have heard nothing. I did a quick, morbid search for an obituary but didn't find anything. I'm getting panicky memories of this happening last September with a different online friend who, as it turned out, had passed away. I really hope this person is simply traveling and having a good time. If I still don't hear anything in a week or so, I may track down her husband or one of her kids.

The movie I saw with my younger daughter last night, Undertone, was really good. It actually scared me—I can't remember the last horror movie that frightened me. After 9/11 very few things unsettle me.

I'd better get moving. Deadlines, laundry, and dust await!
