Gentle posts for gentle folks

p.s. I do have one area in the yard which isn't concreted. It's approximately 2ft x 1 ft and in that small piece I have a honeysuckle - which I cut back quite harshly last year as it was getting out of control - and underneath that I have London Pride (Saxifrage urbium). This is seen as a bit of an old fashioned plant nowadays and I couldn't get any locally so had to send away for it. I'm so glad I did because it reminds me of my childhood when we lived with my grandparents and my nanny had it planted all round the edge of her garden.

It is just greenery at the moment, should flower in May/June time. Will post a pic when it does but here's a pic from the internet. I justlove it, such a delicate little flower.

I was thoroughly checked out by Dr s and many tests, when I was in the hospital, over a year ago, now. Thank you, Patty.

I've been followed by the Dr's, ever since.
They're the ones who actually order the physical therapy, etc.

They ruled some things out and some things in.
I'm definitely getting much better continuing care than I did get, before I had to be hospitalized.

The aquatic therapy is harder to do than the regular physical therapy but there's potential for it to possibly help me, so I'm going to try more sessions of it.
It’s good to know you’re following orders to the’t’. At least you do what they suggest.
Good for you for pushing yourself to do aqua therapy, even though it sounds s much harder.
You’re an inspiration.

Good morning, everyone! Just checking in on you all. It's going to be a very busy week for me and it will include traveling starting Wednesday, so I won't be around much until later in the week. Hotel wifi can be a nightmare. Today and tomorrow I'll be prepping, plus catching up on my work here.

I hope the appointment goes well for your husband, Kaila. 🌹
Thank you for checking in with us , this morning, Kate,🤗
and for letting us know how you are doing at the same time.
And that you'll be traveling, so we won't worry. 😊😉🤩

I hope that your week of endeavors will go very well!

Thank you for this post, Patty.
I've read it several times, which i like to do.
I don't feel like an inspiration, but thank you for saying that.

It's encouraging for me to hear the positive words, from you, and from our other friends, here, too.

That honeysuckle ,or is that a picture of saxiphrage.....🤔
it's beautiful, and I enjoyed your story about it, as well!

Does it like dry soil or damp?

Good afternoon from a sunny northwest England. Not a great deal to report. Went to eldest son's last night for my tea followed by playing dominoes for a change.

Today, I've been for two short walks with Rocco, he wasn't in the mood for going to the park. In fact he's not in the mood for much other than chilling.😉

I think I'll join him soon and do a bit of cross stitch while he's quiet. 😁

That picture is saxiphrage aka London Pride. It appears to be one of those plants that thrives in most soil conditions provided there is decent drainage. It doesn't get any special treatment. This is how it looks at the moment, just waiting on those delicate stalks and flowers to appear.

And this is the pyracantha (firethorn) which is against the back wall. Wall badly needs repainting but the plant needs moving to get at the wall and I can't do that....or the painting either! Son or grandson will do it at some point this summer. The pyracantha is very prickly but at least it is in a long trough so can be moved - just not by me. 🤣

Good Afternoon, Kaila and Friends. 🤗 :coffee: 🌷

I missed you guys yesterday. 🥰

I started my day a little earlier today by taking Lucius for his first walk 30 minutes ahead of schedule. The days have felt so short lately so, I'm trying to build some time back in.

Yesterday, boyfriend and I watched a bad shark movie, which was fun; we haven't done that in a while.

@Kaila, I'm so glad that physical therapy is doing so much for you. And you'll be back in the therapy pool this week; awesome.

---Good thoughts for your husband's medical appointment this morning.

@Pam, you are so right; boyfriend was very happy with the result of the last West Ham game! 4-0. Woot. He was also pretty happy with the results, next day, of the Sunderland and Aston Villa games. He's watching a lot of teams right now because their standings will affect West Ham's. I think he's hoping that Man U will beat Leeds in the game today. Yes, fingers crossed!

---Wild flower seeds are a good idea. I haven't done that in a while, just sprinkled them, as you mentioned. Maybe I'll pick up a packet or two and disperse them in the planters. :)

---Rocco looks so sweet, napping. 🤗

@CallMeKate, hope your week goes well. You will be missed. 🤗

Wishing everyone on Kaila's lovely thread a nice Monday afternoon. 🥕 🥕 🥕

Good afternoon Kaila and friends,
I am glad that the therapy sessions are helpful to you, Kaila. I admire your strentgh and courage.
@CallMeKate Safe travels! You will be missed!❤️
@MarciKS so glad you are feeling better.
@Pam Those are beautiful plants! Rocco is so cute!
@Medusa I'll take one of these delicious coffees!
Nothing much new here. Tonight there is a meeting at the Social Hall. They are giving a series on weather preparedness. I like to stay current as hurricane season is quickly approaching. They invite City people, first responders, etc... They inform you about new systems, latest evacuation routes, etc...It is quite informative.

That photo of Rocco is absolutely adorable!!!!☺️🤩🥰

and dominoes sounds like a nice and relaxing change of pace. Not suspenseful or dramatic. 😁😆😄

perhaps I could find ours, and see if dh could still play it. He might!☺️

It's always wonderful to see you, Rossana,

and myself speaking for all of us, 😄😁🤣
we do
love the Pictures you post for us!🤩

That meeting sounds very informative and interesting;
and important to attend, even if you pick up just 1 or a few, new tips or repeated old reminders!
Stay safe!🫂

I'm glad you came by; I was thinking of you. 🤗

Dh is doing alright, now. I am very exhausted!😱🙀🙈🫣😊☺️

I dearly hope that the med he's started today, might help us both to get more sleep, tonight.🙄😏

I'm sure we need some!

and I need it, in order to get thru all of the motions required, to manage my aquatic therapy appointment, tomorrow.

The mallard duck pair, seems to be staying on the property, for their early springtime behaviors. 😀
And can often be spotted from my window!!!!!🤩🥰🤗🥳🥳🥳

Thank you, @Rossana . I'm getting ready today for heading out very early tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to check back in around late Thursday. If I recall other times I've been traveling, there could be some shenanigans going on here in the thread that I miss. I won't name names, but the "Head Shenanigator" starts with a K and it's not Kate. 🤭

Ah yes, you *are* about to enter hurricane season! I've been to my beloved St. Augustine a number of times for very unsettled weather, but that's always been tornado outbreaks and I've escaped timing for hurricane warnings and evacuations. I hope it was an informative meeting for you.

Good afternoon. Rocco has just gone home, he's been in a very cuddly mood today so I've not had much chance to get on here. I'm not complaining, he is lovely. ☺️

Good luck with the water therapy today @Kaila and I hope both you and your husband manage a good sleep tonight. It makes such a difference. I usually wake very early, as I did this morning, but then I turned over and went back to sleep and slept until 7.15 which is a 'lie in' for me! But I feel so much better for it.

Safe journey @CallMeKate.
