Are you streaming ( or binge watching ) any series on Netflix, or any other service? Tell us about it.

We watched this three part PBS series over the past few days. It was interesting.

Henry David Thoreau: A Film by Erik Ewers and Christopher Loren Ewers and Presented by Ken Burns

It inspired me to observe nature more when I go to the park.

1776296267901.jpegStarted Your Friends & Neighbors (2026) , season 2 last night. It's on Netflix, and after the first 2 eps it shows single eps weekly on Monday nights.

If you liked season 1, it's more of the same with a few new wrinkles, e.g. a supporting role for James Marsden as a very rich nutty tycoon type.

Jon Hamm continues good work. So far, to my taste, there's too much attention to conflict between several of the characters. And at this point, showing every female character as an "empowered woman" is getting a little trite.

Still, it's a good production, so here's hoping it'll be interesting the rest of the way. There will be 10 episodes, and it's already renewed for a 3rd season.

Finished bingeing all seasons of Veronica Mars and enjoyed it. Not sure what I might binge next, if anything. I've moved to movies and documentaries for the time being.
I thought it was a bit different, the premise, and enjoyable. I'm still liking the series of Lincoln Lawyer. Someone said it's not the same as the movie or books but I never saw nor read those. So to me it's all new. I'm in the last season but this one is still on so a new season will be coming. I'm already grieving ending it though. JUST as enjoyable imo. Also with some major twists.

Not deep series but fun, yet somewhat serious but with good twists too. I really like the characters.

Not sure where I'll head next. I don't do movies generally but will see. I have plenty of options since I don't do Netflix always and so when I do get in the mood there is a ton I've never seen.

I did just get a notice my price is getting upped but it's still under $10 a month so I'm good with that.

If you liked The Office, there is (at least to me) a hilarious show on Prime called Jury Duty. The segments are only 30 minutes long so it doesn't take much time to get through the whole season.

The premise is that a guy is called for jury duty and he is the only one who isn't an actor and isn't in on the joke. The judge and bailiff are very realistic, and the other characters are the same whacky people you would expect to find in a cross-section of society. The kicker is that an egocentric James Marsden is thrown in as himself. Some are familiar with him as an actor, some aren't, but they all end up resenting his "self-importance". In one episode, he calls the paparazzi to create a scene and get him out of jury duty, but instead it ends up with the jury being sequestered.

I found it a very funny watch.

@seadoug, I watched the first two episodes last night then decided this was a series to be savored so moved onto something else. You're quite right about it being clever and amusing. The hot mess of a defense attorney role is a riot and James Marsden is pitch perfect: "Woe is me, I can't get a break from public attention because I'm a celebrity... Wait, what do you mean you don't recognize me? Let me tell you everything I've been in..."

Thanks!

Edited to add: I was writing about Seadoug's recommendation of Jury Duty on Prime.

Season 2 of it has started already; it's called Jury Duty: Company Retreat. We've only watched a couple of episodes of it and while it's not quite as funny yet as Season 1 it's pretty good. (And maybe it'll get funnier as it goes.)

I began with "Sitting Bull" finished that still hungry for Documentaries so watched "Men Who Built America"
and now onto "America, Our Defining Hours". I love our history it truly is amazing all good and bad of it.

I added Sitting Bull to my watch list after seeing your post about it. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, though. It was produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, who also produced an interesting documentary about Ulysses S. Grant.

We finished Jury Duty: Company Retreat already and thought it was as good, if not better than the original. What I found funniest is that it includes these "over the top" motivational speakers at the conference. They remind me of some of the motivational speakers I've actually heard at conferences. They've always "climbed a mountain" and are "going for the second one". :ROFLMAO:

Keep watching. Wait until you get to the "clones" from the private equity firm that want to take them over!

Yeah, the ginger clones; they are so funny. And I love the ongoing thing about the "awful Malibu realtors" :ROFLMAO:

We watched this two part series on PBS over the past week...

The British View of the American Revolution

Lucy Worsley Investigates: The American Revolution is a two-part PBS special (premiering April 7 & 14, 2026) that examines the 18th-century split between Britain and its 13 colonies from a British, rather than American, perspective. Worsley investigates the "messy divorce" using original evidence to explore British perspectives, sabotage, and the global impact of the revolution.
It was interesting! (y)

I'm currently watching Tracker. It's an old format, but I enjoy Justin Hartley. But I'm not binging. One episode a day is plenty. The premised has been done to death, but the gimmick is slightly different.

I tried watching Limitless because the movie was so good, but the series doesn't do it for me. I think the original movie said everything that needed to be said in a couple hours. Now the crew is trying their best to think of new episodes to make the same point over and over. The series is languishing unused in my "Currently Watching" collection of titles.
