How to remove hot glue gun residue from a ceramic dish?

From Chat Gtp

The best way to remove glue from a ceramic dish depends on the type of glue, but because it’s ceramic (hard, non-porous, heat-resistant), you have a few safe options.
Start with the safest method
Soak in hot, soapy water for 15–30 minutes.
This often softens labels, craft glue, or weak adhesives.
Use a plastic scraper or old credit card to lift the softened glue. Avoid metal tools that can scratch glaze.
If glue remains
Apply cooking oil or peanut butter
Rub onto the glue and let sit 10–15 minutes. This works well on sticky residue from labels or tape adhesive.
Use rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover (acetone)
Dab on a cloth or cotton ball, let sit briefly, then rub the glue off. Good for super glue or stubborn residue.
For super glue specifically
Acetone is usually best
Apply carefully, wait a minute, then gently scrape. Repeat if needed.
After removal
Wash thoroughly with dish soap and hot water before using the dish for food again.
Important caution
If the dish is decorative, hand-painted, or has metallic trim, skip acetone first—it may damage finishes.
My recommendation
For most ceramic dishes:
Hot soapy soak → plastic scrape → rubbing alcohol/acetone if needed → wash well.
