Gentle posts for gentle folks

Good afternoon. Been a beautiful St Georges Day. Bright sunshine and a gentle breeze. No celebrations today but there will be a parade on Sunday from the Town Hall to St George's Church, It's not too far from where I live so I might take a stroll and watch it. Depends how I feel on the day.

Had a good catch up with my friend this morning, as ever she provided the cakes and I provided the coffee... well, coffee for me, hot chocolate for her and a treat for Rocco for being a good boy. ;)

Have a good day everyone.

I'm happy to read all the wonderful and encouraging posts, here today.

I'm still very worn out. 🙄🫤😕

Got dear husband to the lab, early this morning.
He's napping now.
I'm going to go for a rest now, as well.

First, I wanted to leave my caring and hellos, here,
for each one of you.
🤗☺️🤩😀🥰

Good Afternoon, Kaila and Friends. 🤗 :coffee: 🌷

My day is unfolding in the usual way, which is nice. Boyfriend is being a sweetie and keeping me company while I watch hockey because husband is working late. I was being silly yesterday with the whole, "So... my husband is away tonight; you wanna... watch hockey with me?" 😅

@Kaila, hoping you get some good, certainly well-deserved, rest today. Hugs, girl. 🤗

@MarciKS, good thoughts for your steroid shot tomorrow.

Wishing everyone on this lovely thread a peaceful Thursday. (Patty has already brought us some lovely coffee, and Ima bring more. Because it's coffee. )

I can't thank you all enough!🤗🤗🤗

For the extra doses of caring and support, that I've needed, for the past few days,

since the shocking turn of events on Tuesday , at the moment I was attempting to get out of the physical therapy pool... and fire alarms went off. 😳😖😱

Sheesh.
I wish I could cope better at the time, that day, and recover quicker, afterwards, but this is the best I can do.🙄😐

I hope that I'm beginning to find an even keel.
I thank every one of you, for tossing a lifeline, and being an anchor in the storm, for me.
Your understanding is impressive. ☺️🥰☺️🥰

My short nap was very helpful, this afternoon.
After that, I changed out of my morning layers of heavy clothing, washed my face, and.... combed my hair!😊😁😄

A new me?🙃😄

I corraled my dear cat, and cleaned her ears and paws, and tended her claws and her fur, and her blanket, and the entire room area surrounding us, after that exciting event....😄😁😆

It's been the longest time since I last did it, and she needed it badly. I'm very glad about that accomplishment. 🤗

What happened? Did you go outside?

It is scary when the fire alarm goes off here. Thank goodness I have never had to evacuate. I always wonder what to do if it goes off and I am in the shower. Not going out naked that is for sure! :rolleyes:
A heavy terry cloth robe, would be handy, just in case, if you had one. Plus a blanket to wrap around oneself.
I wish I'd had either one, there that day.

I've thought about that entire experience there, and they're nice people but I don't think they'd trained well enough, for such a scenario.

I hope it doesn't happen again, there.

@Kaila
Oh you poor thing. Somebody pulled the fire alarm and there was no fire?
You instantly get cold when you get out of a pool. Going outside with just a towel wrapped around you must have been FREEZING!
Wow! Do you have an electric blanket?
You poor thing. Here’s a big cyber hug.

I don't have an electric blanket.
I do have small pads that are heated in the microwave. I can put them on the neediest spots. Often one on feet.😊😄🦶🦶😅

Thinking about fire alarms, a while back the alarms were going off in a huge grocery store. This can happen when someone walks out a fire exit. Everyone is supposed to evacuate and not go back in until the firemen declare it safe.

I guess money talks because those alarms in the grocery store went for at least 20 minutes and no one left when the fire department declared it was safe. Heck, they were even letting people go in. DH was outside and said they didn’t know how to turn it off.

Sometimes logic would be better. They could have let you at least shelter in the foyer. Being chilled, especially when you’re not feeling great is a bigger liability.

Wishing you a better Thursday.
That's amazing that they didn't need to have everyone out of that grocery store, in that situation, Jules!
And they even let shoppers continue to go in. 😵‍💫🥸😦

I do think the people who work at my p t. place, could learn a lot from how it went, there, this week.
I'd like to suggest or even sponser,a training day Saturday for them, on the subject. 😉😊

I sure hope it isn't some faulty alarm system there, that might not be fixed properly!

@Pam
THat small bed assist rail that you've got, sounds like something very useful to have;
both in order to prevent a mishap,
and in addition, to simply put a hand on it, to steady oneself while transitioning from in bed, to getting upright!

It also sounds useful and convenient for holding items, that you want within reach.

Is it designed for one side of the bed, or for both?
I might like to get 1, or a pair.

Good Morning, Kaila & Friends! Not sure what kind of day I will be having. Here in NYS it is hot one day and freezing the next. Google says it is cooling off the next few days so I shall see. Would like to take a little walk outside the next four days. I had a long walk yesterday, to and from therapy. Finally starting Monday, I will have unlimited transportation to and from my therapy appointments. Took a bit to get that.

Hope you all have a terrific Thursday!

Here too, we've had a lot of back and forth weather, with a mild afternoon a few times;
but so far, just when I think that winter might be loosening it's grip,
night temps always head back to below freezing, with daytime highs in low 40's.🙄

Not exactly full Springtime-like.😊😁

Have you spotted any daffodils yet?

Very few in bloom here, yet.

I hope that transportation service works out excellent for you!😃

Hello to all of you,
Today I was still hurting and overly worn out, from the total of yesterday's aquatic physical therapy session, plus their fire alarm building evacuation, while I was wet and cold there.

It was therefore, very exhausting, to do the tasks at home, today, that had to be done. Whew!

I'm thinking of each one of you!🥰🤩🥰🤩🥰

It takes a long time to warm up after such a bone chilling experience. Be gentle with yourself. You deserve a treat (or two).

It goes either side. And yes, when my back is bad it does help to have something to hold onto to assist me. This is the one I bought. It simply slides between the base of the bed and the mattress and, although it may not look like it, is really sturdy and a great help. The pocket for holding items is on the back.
