I Love Chomping on Celery!

Still love 50's & 60's music!
Just love chomping on celery. Especially Celery Hearts. In the middle you find those tiny little light green stalks. I wash them off and just munch away on those little stalks. I can eat celery with a dip, with peanut butter, or just plain without anything on it. Other than potatoes, I can't think of another vegetable that I love as much. That's why I always loved V8 juice. You can taste the celery in it. Come on! Am I the only celery lover here?

One of the healthiest and best tasting things in the world (IMHO) is Waldorf salad: Celery, apples, walnuts, raisins & mayonnaise.
Darn, I have everything but the apples and it’s not apple season. Just not the same.

I rarely eat celery on its own.

For an appetizer, I used to fill the sticks with cream cheese, mayo, garlic powder, chopped walnuts. Too many calories nowadays.

I try to keep a supply of celery and carrot sticks for mindless munching.

I enjoy the crunch and peppery back flavor of the mature dark green celery that usually has a fair amount of mud clinging to it when you bring it home from the store.

Sadly, celery in cooking seems to be losing popularity as the cost of feeding a family continues to rise it’s an easy item to omit from the shopping list.

I love celery.
My Mother used to make Waldorf Salad.
I made it for a cook out we had at my late Husbands Sister's house.
Put it in a fancy glass bowl with a big fancy spoon.
No one would eat it. They kept saying ...eww...who made that...what is that.
I brought it home and we ate it all.

As a flavouring in soups and stews definitely, but me, I like to chomp on radishes until they come out of my ears. 😊
I never forgot the time I sat and ate radishes and pepperoni. The belch that resulted from the volcanic activity it produced in my gut made my eyes water and I swear it came out my ears as well. Not to mention the potent aftertaste. It was nasty to say the least.

I make it frequently and concoct a dressing using low-fat mayo (can't taste the difference between it and regular mayo anymore), a little vegan sour cream and some lemon juice. I use a very light hand with the amount of dressing.
