Notes from Pappy's diary

Going to the office this morning to sign new lease. Ours is up the end of the month. Sneaky property owners didn’t increase the rent but added an amenity fee. $99 a month. Don’t use anything of their amenities but we are stuck with it. Just what my budget didn’t need.

Tuesday I go to VA to see my pulmonologist. I think she will be changing my meds again.

That IS sneaky pappy... We have the same in Spain, where some owners wanted their community charge reduced because like you they didn't use the Amenities on the gated community.. the pool for example.... but they were alwys told that it didn't matter that they didn't use them.. that they were there if they wanted to use them seems a tad unfair.

At out home owners meeting we would argue on their behalf.. and say why didn't we implement an identity type of situation where those who pid higher fees and could use the amenities, would have an armband or something similar with their door number on... .. and those who didn't use the amenities could pay less, and not have any ID bracelet... ..but no... they wanted money from everyone regardless of those who didn't use the facilities

Signed and delivered our next years lease this morning. I got back our last years security payment so our May rent is only $15. An unexpected windfall this month. Yea me…😊

I am checking out what they call a Smartvest. It’s a vest you put on for 20 minutes, twice a day, and loosens phlegm for us with COPD. It is supposed to be very helpful. Need to see if my VA pulmonologist will okay it, if not, I’m checking with my United Healthcare plan. They are very expensive and hope one of these plans will cover it. Anyone familiar will these vest?

Opened up my electric bill and almost had a heart attack. $1,016. Reread the name and it’s for another name similar to mine. He lives in building C3. We are E3. 🫪

@Pappy, what has your neighbor in C3 been doing to get that high a bill? Running the emergency heat? Good grief, I’d have had a heart attack too

As to the Smartvest, I haven’t—as a nurse —worked with them personally but from the description on the website, apparently it imitates pulmonary percussion, where the medical professional rhythmically claps over the chest or back in a cupped hand shape for 5–15 minutes; it’s usually combined with postural drainage

Do I remember your daughter is a nurse ? Maybe she can do that for you and save some $$$

My neighbor with the huge bill had a letter demanding some type of payment. Looks like 2or 3 bills had backed up.
My daughter does use the hand cup method on my back when she is here but only see her 2-3 times a week.
