Do you think restaurants should have a Senior Menu for Senior Citizens?

In my location we already have several restaurants that have Senior Menus.
Should adults be allowed to order off the kid's menu?

I think there should be a seniors menu or they should be allowed to order off the kids menu. Around here we are able to order off kids menus. Most older people don't need as much to eat and some places the portions are enough for 3 meals.

I am with you! I like to order enough food to have leftovers to take home. Believe me us older people can eat as much as younger people.
My appetite grew substantially after being hospitalized. I had no appetite for a few years but once I started getting food prepared and delivered right to me I began to eat and eat and eat! For the past few months I’ve been eating more and more!

Hope that I can continue eating a lot. It feels better and I have more energy.

One restaurant we went to had two different entree portions you could order for their dinners. The sides were the same size for both portions. Most of the sandwiches were one size, but there was a few you could order a half-portion.

It was a bummer when they closed because no one wanted to take it over.

Sadly, the overhead remains the same for the restaurant whether the customers order a full meal or a glass of water and half a sandwich or a cup of soup.

I’ve been to a couple of upscale restaurants where two people can share a meal with an additional plate charge, I don’t like it but I do understand it.

I’m definitely a doggie bag diner that enjoys generous portions at a fair price.

The Province of Ontario requires all food outlets ( that have 20 or more locations ) to list the total calories in each dish on their menu. So you can see how many calories you will be eating. Seniors can make more informed food choices based on that information.

Link to the Ontario regulations about calories in food dishes. This regulation was introduced in 2016.

many places here do have seniors discount at certain times - for example, lunch time on week days- you just show your seniors card

You get same meal but bit cheaper.

Some places have seniors menu - which usually means most of the same things on regular menu but smaller serves at slightly less price.

kids menu being only for under 12 years is standard here.
