Harvest Time in December!

Who would'da thought? Picked today, about 2-3 lbs. of several kinds of peppers from our modest garden. The big dark ones my wife planted two years ago, the smaller varieties last February. I love them in my "soups", and have always thought their flavor was essential to making the tastiest Chicken or Turkey Ala King! imp

Peppers are good and so healthy for you too! Guess December in Nevada is more like late summer/fall elsewhere? :D

Actually, it's been unusually cool here for most of November, low temps. in 40s. That of course does not way-lay any plants, but stunts them, no doubt. As a rule, December is the only month here when frost might occur. If it does, it rarely stays below 32`F for more than a couple of hours.

Down in Phoenix, where AZJim lives, they will right now be harvesting cantaloupe, watermelon, many other vegetables, then replanting in cotton early in the next year. It's amazingly different from the Midwest where I grew up, yet, nothing quite like the tropics, Hawaii, for example.

The desert areas have traditionally been consistent weatherwise, decade after decade. Now, with unprecedented El Nino influence, some variation may be in order. imp
