I always wonder in shows or movies with a scene at an outdoor California patio restaurant:
do they pay a few guys to go off down the beach and feed the seagulls to keep them
from messing up the filming?

Outside.. almost always outside if the weather is nice.. even when i go on my own to just have a drink at the pub I almost always sit outside

Honestly, inside for me.

Eating outside always seems like a good idea, but too often you end up with paper plates and plastic knives and forks.

Lucky you Holly. We have a few insects flying around here in warm weather.

even in Spain where it's hot.. and we have mozzies there and all sorts of other insets , al fresco is by far the most popular way of eating.. for some reason aside from perhaps wasps attracted by sugary drinks we don't get annoyed by insects while eating..

I prefer eating indoors but occasionally like eating outdoors on a nice patio.

Which ever area is least full at the time of seating or if it's hot we're inside. We spend a lot of time outdoors every day, year round so it doesn't really matter one way or the other. Although at my old golf club eating on the patio is pretty nice, barring any kids running amuck on the adjacent practice green.
