How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2026....

I've just finished my course of physio and I hope it will improve my knee joints. The physio said that my knee was a long way from needing surgery but if it was painful, there were injections that could help. I found the whole affair was quite tiring, so I hope it will be successful.
I've had the steroid injections in both knees... they're painful, I'm not gonna lie...... but they give relief from the pain for months at a time.. which means of course you can get bak to oing what you're used to doing..walking, climbing stairs, driving , generally moving around easily again... without pain.. so it's well worth it IMO ...speak to your GP... unlike the NHS waiting list for OPS..these cortisone injections are sometimes done in the gP surgery , and if not, then the waiting list is not long for them at the hospital

Syn-visc has been immeasurably helpful for my knees. It fills the space where the cartilage was and ends all the clicking and popping. I take it every 6 months in both knees; it's not very painful despite the fact that the dr injects the med as fast as possible! He's always in a hurry.

Speaking of steroid injections, it appears DH's kenalog steroid injection that I mentioned two weeks ago How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2026.... has done the trick! We're especially delighted because the prior two didn't take.

I sure hope it works well for you, @Capt Lightning. 🤗

Pleased that worked for him... I had brilliant sucess when I had the injections in my back ...about 15 or even 20 years ago was the first... it gave me pain relief for at least 3 years.... later injections didn't last as long ... but still very good..

Hopefully the pain relief for your O/H will last as long if not even longer 🤞

Thanks, @hollydolly. He's quite stoic about pain so when I see him wince, ask if we could take a shorter walk or skip that day altogether, or defer a chore that involves physical activity, I know he's really suffering.
Preisely, and I'm the same..always been very stoic about pain.. and I always say to people....if I say I'm in pain ..then you know I just be in a LOT of pain.. otherwise I would say nothing.. and it sound like your hubs is the same

We go on all of us...pretty much suffering various pains all day every day at our ages now and we say little or nothing about it..... but sometimes the pain is so unbearable that you just have to say that you're suffering... or that ..I just want to be left alone to deal with this in a quiet way

Been busy the past few weeks w motorcycling. I had my 2nd track day riding in the novice group in SLC this past Saturday on a very pleasant day at the Utah Motorsports Campus south of SLC. When my riding technique gets better I'll buy some pics and post them.

I have also ridden a bit locally, getting to hit the twisties up and over Galena Summit into the Sawtooth Valley.

Worked out today and then went to the range in preparation for an Enhanced Concealed Carry permit course on Saturday. I hadn't been in a few weeks due to the cold and wind and it showed in some poor shooting. The first 12 hit the left shoulder and near the paw.

I found my error after a dozen rounds and my shooting got back on target for the last dozen. After making sure I wasn't squeezing my entire hand on the weapon during the trigger pull and only using the pad on my forefinger to squeeze the round off.

I'm headed back to Yellowstone camping for Memorial weekend w the 3 people I care the most about in the world and I'll be damned if I'm not fully prepared, especially after this incident the occurred Monday.

AI "Two brothers were seriously injured in a grizzly bear attack on the Mystic Falls Trail in Yellowstone National Park on Monday, May 4, 2026. The incident, the first bear mauling in the park since September 2025, resulted in one brother being airlifted in critical condition and the other in serious condition to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

The National Park Service temporarily closed five trails and several backcountry campsites in the Midway Geyser Basin area near Old Faithful pending an investigation. While officials confirmed one or more bears were involved, they have not yet identified the specific species, though grizzlies are prevalent in the region. Park safety guidelines advise visitors to maintain a 100-yard distance from bears, hike in groups, and carry bear spray."

Yes we carry bear spray, but if the bear is upwind that bear spray is coming back in your face. The best defense is having both the bear spray and a weapon, although there are some super loud air horns available that I think could be a great addition to bear spray and lead.

I had to remove some things off the kitchen counter and cover up my toaster oven-air fryer thingy because the men came and repaired the kitchen wall & ceiling this morning. One moved the countertop dishwasher but put it on the kitchen floor, so it got dust on it. He helped me clean it off before he put it back. They cleaned up after themselves, but I still had to disinfect the counter and sweep a little bit of debris that they missed. What a relief to have a fully functional kitchen again, at least for 10 days until the remodel starts.

I had 3 interesting phone conversations today; one with Honorary Son#3, another with a good friend and one with a favorite online friend (for 20 years). Both the ladies and I call each other Sis. Changed into my "street clothes" and went down to the office at 5:35 to take my HOA check and discuss getting the loan, but it was closed. Either I got the office hours wrong or the managing agent(s) didn't show up today. Now I have to email Renee, one of the managing agents, to let her know I did make an effort to pay before the 10th and inquire about a time to work out the terms of the loan.

Afternoon Peeps of SF..... 🌺

another grim overcast day today..altho' it's warm outside.. I was surprised just how warm it was when I went out...

Had an update from my insurance company about the car acccident claim.. and I'm sure they just send these letters out automatially without checking facts...perhaps even AI... because there was several errors and omissions... so I immediately emailed them back and corrected the errors... and I got an apology within minutes with an excuse blaming someone else..as always... but it's been 10 months now since the accident and we're still no further forward with the personal injury claim... *sigh*

Hope everyone has the best Friday they can (y)

Good morning to everyone. It is supposed to rain today, so I hope it does and a good amount.

I had an ear ache yesterday and it kept hurting even cleaning it out and taking Tylenol. However today it doesn't hurt.

@hawkdon It isn't pleasant getting older and the body not responding like it used to when younger. All we can do is keep going and try to take care of ourselves. I hope you feel better today.

@hollydolly it seems like your accident case just keeps on going. I really hope it is settled soon.

Everyone, I hope you are feeling well and have a good day. :)

Good morning and Happy Friday, May 8th!

The full family is coming this evening for an early Mother's Day gathering. ❤️ I love seeing the kids and GK families individually, but having everyone here at the same time is truly special.

Am still trying to work out what to serve beyond veggie and fruit platters. Among us there are a few omnivores, two vegans, two plant-based and two keto eaters. It's no simple trick to feed this group.

Who's on first? I dunno, ...no he's on 2nd !!!!! Thats
what I'm thinking after call between me and 2nd
caregiver/housekeeper, came to the place and said
it was her day!!! i'D just talked to 1st housekeeper,
and she (1st) is on sked for next friday, so 2nd was
not eve due, plus I'd rec'd word that I was only allowed one housekeeper/aid every 2 weeks, but
it seems now I qualify for an aide every week for
6 hrs, so I called 1st one back, and she is calling
the office monday to get this all straightened out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!o_O:LOL::devilish:

How can anyone keep the schedule straight?!!!

From today's ride on a beautiful, calm day w temps in the high 60's°F. Redfish Lake near Stanley, ID. It was great to hit this before the tourist season arrives in a few weeks. This area known as the Sawtooth National Recreation Area was once under consideration for National Park Status......thankfully it didn't warrant the title.

Today's wildlife count was 3 groups of antelope totaling 12, 2 mule deer - one of which tried to cross the highway in front of me, a single sandhill crane, a western grebe, and a bird of prey to be named later.

An update from morning post, the rain stopped & left around 9:30,its been a sunny and cool day temps in the 50's. I did take an afternoon walk which boosted my spirits

I had an appointment with my endocrinologist this morning. Took Ubers there and back, but to go home I walked to the building across the street because the doctor's office building has a couple of different entrances and often that confuses the drivers. The building I went to used to be a Boston Market. I wish it still was...or someplace to get food.

Anyway, my doctor was very happy with my A1C, cholesterol and other results from my bloodwork. She was going to have me come back in 3 or 4 months (lab work would have to be done before the visit), but I told her I hate getting bloodwork done because I can barely bleed into the tube, sometimes I have to be stuck twice if the lab tech isn't a real expert and I really, really hate needles. I said as long as everything looks good, I'd prefer to have lab work done every 6 months. She was okay with that so I'll see her in 6 months.

I only had a couple of teaspoons of egg salad for breakfast, so after I changed clothes, I made a PBnJ sandwich, watched a little of World News Tonight, then fell asleep for several hours. I was up for most of the middle of the night, so I needed that sleep. For the first time in over a week, I got to load my dishwasher, but it was late so I'll run it tomorrow morning.

@againstthegrain I'm not a snow capped mountain fan, but those pictures are beautiful. I wouldn't mind being at that lake right now. Your bike is 🔥🔥 too!
@StarSong The way you entertain and your ability to entertain so many at once amazes me!
@hawkdon I'm so sorry that your body continues to forsake you. Don't know if you are a praying person, but I'll keep you in prayer. 🤗
