Second Hand News Guy Reporting In

New study finds Pocahontas Virus primarily affects people with access to Wi-Fi and opinions. So it could affect us all. Unless opinions are AI generated, in which case you are ok.

But obviously we will all be keeping an eye out on these forum threads to see who hasn't been affected.

I'm a child of the 70's when it was okay to be funny.
I posted my Pocahontas joke on my other site and the thread got locked...the Mod accused me of being insensitive.

That is a joke in itself, in my opinion. My test is, is the joke funnier than it is mean? Then I'll post it. I thought this was a humorous post...guess I'm just an old out of touch insensitive geezer!
 
Was I being insensitive because Pocahontas was a Princess of colour??

Are we only allowed to tell jokes now exclusively about white people? Is this what it has come to?

That's probably it Beezer. I got banned from Mighty Big TV because I didn't like someone on Survivor who was a POC, never mind that my criticism was mild and the person I was rooting for was also a POC. To me, it's the people who can't take anyone at face value, but are constantly aware of their skin color that are racist.I had hoped we would give up assigning "races" to people this century, but I guess not.

Okay. The Mod from my other forum said I was being insensitive because people have died from this new virus. Also, I was being racially insensitive with the Pocahontas reference.
To be honest, when I post one of my jokes/ shtick...I really don't overthink it. I just fly by the seat of my pants and try to share some giggles.
At any rate, I told the Mod to stop fretting...that this isn't the hill that we both want to die on...etc.

All this so-called PC stuff has gone waaaay too far.. it seems nearly everything 'offends' somebody.
 
My joke was about a misinformed, ignorant Second Hand News Guy.
I thought that was clear, and what made the post a little funny.
But it was taken far too literally.

No, really. I'm not that deep! 😂
 
If a certain someone hadn't made it a racial slur no one would have paid it any attention.

If that's their response, I'd be glad to be rid of them.
