Why do people respond to a Marketplace ad when...

They can't commit to a day and time. I had a nibble on a table lamp. The person said she was interested, but was away on a trip and didn't know when she would be back. Jeepers, wait until you get back, then respond.

And if it sells in the meantime, snooze you lose. I sell it to the next interested person

I honestly think Marketplace has taken over what we would call "Window Shopping" back in the day.
We could walk down a long Blvd. of shops and see things and dream and for impulse buyers it turns
into a nightmare for sellers. They keep looking and put in an "I m interested" tag on several things and
maybe will actually buy - maybe not. I do think that is part of it.

A few years ago (before I moved), I had a go-around with a local woman. She responded to almost everything I had posted and set a time to come, but never showed up. When I queried her, it was always some lame excuse or a vague reply:

"I decided to go to my grandson's soccer game."
"I am getting things ready."
"I forgot I had something else to do."
"I couldn't find you." (really lame since she lived just up the street).

I finally blocked her.

I had another poop-out. Someone was supposed to come at 11 am this morning to look at framed art prints. Just received a PM saying he/she forgot about all-day meetings. Sounds lame that they wouldn't know that had meetings today, but at least they let me know.

I think more and more people get some kind of sick amusement making the monkeys dance.



Just take it all with a grain of salt and set the appointments for a day and time that is convenient for you, if they show they show.
