Sometimes you just feel old

Cleaning out and going through things I can see how many years have passed. A letter, a picture, an old bill, all remind me of how much time has gone by.
I feel like I've lived a long life. DHs death made me face my mortality but maybe not in a bad way. Just reality.

I FEEL old when I refer to something I think is a very common phrase, or a well known person, etc. and the young person I'm talking to has a blank stare as they reach for their phone to look it up.

My DD is 50..how that happened goodness knows lol...and she has no children, by choice.. but it just occured to me recently, if she had, had children.. she could have potentially been a grandmother now... ..which would have made me a great grandmother... me ?... lol:ROFLMAO:

Well Holly it seems I was older than you are now when I joined 3 or 4 years ago after loosing my wife of 40 years and my best friend having just lost his wife of 60 years. Now I have recently lost him he having made it well into his 80s and all I can say that having recently started putting an 8 in the front of my age is I suddenly started feeling OLD.
They say you are as old as you feel but all I can say is being the oldest in the family and friends I know of is does not help with 'feeling' younger, I am still working of that though!

I remember when you joined.... as I do most of our members here now... and the tragic loss of your wife, and friends... 🤗 they say this is the price you pay for loving them.... and I hope tho' at 80 we help you feel a little bit younger 🌺

Was talking with a friend reminiscing about our race teams pig picking we use to throw every January... buried 3 of them last fall in one month. We became a racing family and those little kids now have kids.
Holly, January was 42 years for us.

I miss some of the older posters and wonder if they just quit posting or did they pass away.
I remember when Politics were discussed, but I never made 1 post. I knew that posting there, you became fair game.
A lot of people became unfriendly towards one another very quickly.

yes they did, and many people were banned ... like you I never posted in the politics section either... yes many posters did die sadly....
