How are you today?

Not really ... I work with my husband (we own a small construction company) and he does not want to retire - so it's hard for me to leave him to do all the work. I am truly blessed, it's not stressful - for the most part, and it certainly makes life more affordable - but...

I have applied for my social security; I'll be 63 in July - and I hope DH will eventually warm to the idea of full retirement! :)

For whatever reason, I just feel done with it all.
Maybe you could convince him of the merits of just doing small, private jobs.

Well shucks!!! Was sposed to go see eye doc this mornin, however I can
Barely walk this morning,,,,my left foot is extemely painfull, I guess
it is aflareup of gout/arthritis,,,so, will cancel and re-schedule....not
going to chance it with my balance issues'....:poop::confused:

Good morning. DD and I are off in a few minutes to run payday errands and visit the garden centers (of course!).

When we get home, there will be flowers to plant. If we aren't being lied to (again), we'll get rain tonight and daily for the next five days along with cooler weather so I wanna get flowers planted when it'll be wet enough and "cool" enough to give them a good start.

Y'all behave while I'm gone.

Just doing what I can for now. All of my focusing is on getting down the stairs. I did go down there and got my mail 📬. It turned out that getting back up the stairs is harder because it is steeper. I ended up sitting on the bottom of the stairs going up.

A man appeared and asked me if I needed help. I told him I did. He helped me stand up and then helped me go up those stairs. I was very grateful. I was thinking oh there still are kind people in the world 🌎Plus, he was very handsome 😀

I need to wash my hair today. I let it get a bit oily then wash it.

No herd of squirrels this morning, they must have found all the buried acorns finally.
Supposed to have sun today and tomorrow so maybe my Pileated Woodpecker will be back.
Hubby brought me home some beef fat so I can attempt to make my own suet the way the
woodpeckers prefer so I can keep them on the feeder and off my home.
Anyone make your own suet? Any tips?

Good morning to all. Another dreadfully short night's sleep for me. What's worse is that it's two in a row. Up around 4am and couldn't find my way back to slumberland. No real biggie... There's nothing urgent on today's agenda. Am only drinking decaf this morning and am already feeling sleepy. Hoping and guessing I'll be able to nap within an hour or two. Will report back...

Can you go over, or perhaps call, the place where you’re on the waiting list. Explain how bad things are for you with no elevator. It might help you get higher on the list.

We have downsized quite a bit already, so he only takes enough work to keep our one employee busy. He doesn't go out into the field nearly as much as he used to, and honestly - he enjoys what he does.

We are just different. Work makes him happy, while I feel like I have worked my entire life - and look forward to the "finish line" - to say, I made it! I'm sure at some point, we'll figure it out. Meanwhile, I try to be thankful for my blessings - and push myself now and then, when I just don't want to do it anymore.

🌷 Thank you :) It was a very good suggestion!

Round three of the Stanley Cup finals begins tonight. 🏒 Husband is closing though, so we'll catch the first game tomorrow.

I like watching them in replay because we can skip all the breaks.

We were watching a game last night and I was "woohooing" at a goal and husband gave me a towel to wave! Finally! I've been needing one of those. 😅

Edit: typo

Caught a 2-1/2 hour nap and am feeling like myself again!

Well. I finally caved and turned on the a/c. It's been very warm here but dry until today. Today's been so humid that without a/c tonight, the bed linens would be feeling damp, and I'd get less sleep than I usually do. So it's summer. The only thing missing is fireflies.

Good morning, boys and girls. Are we all in our places with bright, shiny faces?

The promised rain yesterday and last night happened, just not around us. Where DS lives in the city, there was some serious flooding, with the interstate and in-town streets impassable, but not a drop here. We are about 30 miles north of the city. We're promised rain again today and tomorrow and tomorrow... Mmhmm.

The flowers that were going to get planted yesterday are going to be planted in just a little while, as soon as the laundry gets started.

So glad the a/c got turned on. Slept much better.

Where are the fireflies?

Morning gang!! Too cool for the fire flies here Granny, only 56F this a.m., and
high of just 60 later on....well the heat pad and pain patch have failed me
somewhat, cause the left foot is still rather painful, dang it....so, not gonna
run around today again. I think I'll start the day witha couple of Advil and
the hot pad & see whar happens........take care all peeps!!! ;):coffee:

Woke too early so hit the music threads to give my brain a chance to get in gear.
I think I am as close to a gear as I can be. I just can't figure out what the heck I will
do today.
I will check the Community board for my neighbors and see if and when someone
needs a ride to Doctor and/or shopping and offer my services and keep an eye out
for that elusive Woodpecker with camera ready to go.

Breakfast of champions :D

Our family's first car after the war was a 1932 Graham Page. It didn't have a first gear so when we got to a hill, my dad would turn around and use the reverse gear to back up the hill. Maybe you're in reverse?😉

Lemme tell ya, kids: We're definitely in air-you-can-wear weather here. I worked in the garden for 2 1/2 hours and had to shower and change my clothes when I got done.

Anyway, it was productive time spent out there. Everything has been planted or moved or whatever was needed. Tomorrow will be mulch day. Then weeding starts again. Damned weeds! They're like "I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me, and what can be the use of him is more than I can see."

And after all of that work, you deserve GELATO!!!! 🤣😁

There was a herd of dust bunnies hiding under the beds. I went after them with the vacuum this afternoon, and they tried to put up a struggle, but now they're gone. Then I went after some more behind the window blinds. Time to relax now; the coast is clear. . . . ;)

Are you very sure, that the coast is clear?🤔🫣😬

I think that their relatives might have posted your address online, and may be planning a large reunion, at your place , sometime very, very soon.
