having Hallucinations!!! Having gone thru some strange stuff the last few weeks,
I've done a little research and that is what makes sense of my "music brain", and
two nites ago, I actually got out of bed, looked out a window, and was having a
"vision" of something that probably only in my "brain"!!! It seems that we elderly
can exper these hallucinations for a vARIETY of reasons,,,,dehydration, certain
medications, looking back I think when I first started hearing "songs" during my
Tinnitus issues is when the halluc started happening. I guess another doctor visit
will have to be made dammmiitttt...

🤗 I'm glad you said this... now I won't have to remind you that it would be a good idea. :giggle: Hopefully it's something that will be easy to take care of, especially if it's meds or dehydration. You getting enough electrolytes? Anyhow, take care of yourself... and please don't put that doc visit off.

This from the NIH:

Yes, hallucinations are a common symptom of a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) in the elderly. In seniors, UTIs often do not present with typical symptoms like burning or pain. Instead, the infection triggers delirium, a sudden and severe state of confusion that can cause rapid mood swings, paranoia, and hallucinations
I've had many UTI's over the years, and they always presented with pain. Two years ago, I felt tired and out of it for 3-4 days, and no pain. I finally went to the doctor and it was a UTI. This one was harder to overcome than the previous ones since I waited too long to start antibiotics. So getting checked out is important @hawkdon

I've also had UTI's over they years and they not only presented as painful urination but the need to urinate frequently. I had one while we were on a cruise and could barely make it from one bathroom to the next when we were in port. Each time it was treated with antibiotics. I agree that Don needs to get this checked out.

I've had a couple of UTI's. The last one about 3 years ago was very painful and I had blood in the urine. I had some URAL at home took a dose of it then went to see my doctor who prescribed antibiotics which cleared it up in a matter of hours. My sister has had 4 infections this year. The doctors never told her to see a specialist, and now the last doctor she saw last week has given her a referral to see a specialist.

I am also thinking a UTI. My Mom had many episodes of this. I also suffer from the .musical ear problem. i felt better since you mentioned it Still have it only when I lie down to sleep. For me, I think connected to my neck nerve problems.
I do think in your case of hallucinations, a UTI is the first thing to check. I was shocked when my Mom was sick but everything cleared right up once she was treated. I am sorry, I know it is scary because you do not know what is happening, but a UTI is a very easy treatable condition.

Just make sure if it is a UTI you stay hydrated, maybe add cranberry juice to your diet or take a urinary supplement.

I used to have hallucinations before I got on SSRIs. Once, I was in the lobby of a performing arts theater and people looked reptilian. That was interesting. We were at a classical music concert, so the diversion was welcome. :ROFLMAO:

I've had quite a few others.. They were more like distortions of reality than something appearing out of the blue -- kind of like mild LSD.

You don't have a Datacenter near you do you?

Best wishes for a good doctor appointment. I have to remember to drink more water. I had a hallucination earlier this year. It only happened once so far. It surprised the heck out of me! Good luck.
