Bomb threat in Los Angeles

All city schools are shut down and students are sent home. Problems for some students can't
get home B/C parents are at work.

Just heard it was a hoax.

I think New York had a similar hoax as well. This is part of what terrorist want even from a criminal prankster. They want the cry wolf syndrome to kick in because that's when they will.

Bomb Threat Closes All Los Angeles Schools

Supposedly a bomb threat has closed all the LA Unified Schools but my step-granddaughter's school is on today. I wonder why. Anyway, I agree with what my daughter posted on Facebook.
Candie:

How many times have there been bomb threats followed by actual bombs? If someone really wanted to blow something up, wouldn't it defeat the purpose to warn people?

Candie: I still think it's prudent to investigate and be cautious, but still. Cowardly a******* make threats.

So anyway, if a bomb or bombs go off today she and I will look like fools, huh? In a few minutes we are going to the mall because we don't want to let these people run our lives. And we were going to the mall anyway.

Looks like New York handled it more realistically and determined it was just a hoax. Looks like LA overreacted. I'm with you Linda, not going to run around in a state of paranoia. These bomb threats have been happening for years in various locations. Reminds me of the big Ebola panic, all the news media milked it for what they could and people started to lose their minds in fear.

When we were sitting at the mall today, my granddaughter told me several years during finals they had a bomb threat at high school/college. I think if you are going to live in a big city (What is it, 7 or 8 million?) you best not run and hide every time someone makes a threat. My friend in a small town in Texas stayed glued to her TV all day watching every second of it on CNN or Fox or whatever it is she watches. We chose to go out and live today as tomorrow isn't promised to us. Of course, everyone should do what works best for them in their own comfort zone.

My son just mentioned today that one of the high schools in our town had a bomb threat for dec 16 also...they are having their finals tomorrow and they are supposed to leave their backpacks at home.

Finals, wouldn't be the first time a student wanted an out. If a student they should learn to spell allah with an 'h' and not an 'a'
