Any Retired Pharmacists Out There?

Okay my GP prescribes 2 doses of the V medicine and one dose of Q medicine. A sixth month prescription at a time. No controlled substances, just a daily dose. Some days I will phone in to CVS and the recording will say there are no more refills. When we go in person to argue it they will hand me all three prescriptions...gofigya.
Now I have a good three months of the V stuff.

Now they are saying the Q stuff RX expired. Then when I called back they said all apologies they have a month of Q for tomorrow but need a new RX for next month. The V and Q prescriptions were written the same day, same dosage. Why????

Fur, you will only get a reasonable answer from the pharmacy director, manager, senior pharmacist...whatever title they use for the top pharmacist position. He or she can answer questions about policy and expiration dates. But call the insurance company. My guess is, the pharmacy's confusion is coming from your insurance company.

Yup -- my sis has had all kinds of drama with some of her meds --it's usually the insurance company, and sometimes it's a mess about what actually constitutes a "month's supply." Drives me nuts, as I'm always the one who is elected to try to straighten it out.

There was a newbie poster that signed on last year that said he was a pharmacist living in Missouri. That was the only post that I have seen from him.
