A Octogenarian Social Life

I dunno, but just ten years ago at age 71 my daily social activities ran the gammut of playing golf. pickle ball, bocce ball, scuba diving and now at 81 it seems like appointments with the Urologist, Cardiologist, Dermatologist, Oncologist, Hematologist, Internist & Lab tests make up my daily social activities and I am not even sick, just stiff in the joints and achey. To all you young studs and ladies I say ----get out and enjoy physical activites while you can because there comes a time when you can't. I have no complaints, I retired early and have enjoyed many years of enjoyable activities.

Lon, you forgot the Dentist, Chiropractor, and the Ophthalmologist. I have had both knees replaced, plus cataracts. I am only 82.

Never went in for golf or anything involving a ball, but did enjoy snorkeling, sailing and camper/traveling. Enjoyed some travel overseas, but that time is winding down.

My advice to the younger folks: "enjoy it while you can".

Yeah, I'm doing the doc visits with hubby...I will be 54. If I survive outliving him...don't want that to happen. If you can hold Callie's leash and not fear him. But love him like the big mushball he really is. Yup, any gender and I'm on.

At 64 and 67 we are enjoying ourselves and are physically very active and fit. We are active when we travel as well. And I enjoy building muscles. We are both very healthy which helps. But we know that won't last forever so we go go go.....

Biking, sailing, and traveling are just fond memories now, and I wonder at how active I was...

My body made the decisions for me. You'll see, so enjoy your "youth" while you can...

Hmm...maybe I'll start running again and try to win a marathon before that happens. I have a FB friend who is 75 and runs in marathons all the time.

Hmm, well, you probably have lousy gin anyway...
