I wear a watch always - except when I go to bed. Mostly it is a watch that belonged to my father. But I also have a cheap one that I keep for when I go cycling, hillwalking, gardening or any other activity that may result in the watch being damaged. This morning I went to put on the cheap watch to discover that the battery had died. That gave me something to do to while away 15 minutes of my life. But it did make me wonder if most people do still wear a watch or if they now rely on their phones or other devices to tell them the time.

So, do you still wear a watch?

I've only just started again. When I was a computer engineer, we couldn't wear watches, rings etc.. so I got used to not wearing one. I had the knack of knowing the time without the need for a watch, so I didn't wear one for many years. Anyway, there was usually a clock somewhere. Then at Christmas, I got a gift voucher and used it to buy a basic watch. It does what it's meant to do - it tells the time to within a few seconds. I take it off in the evenings.

Because I always have my smart phone with me, I stopped wearing a watch. Bugs my wife to no end, because she hates being without a watch.

My apologies. I did not realise this was a duplicate thread. If I can find out how to contact a Mod to remove this, I will. :)

Don't worry about it, several others are duplicate threads, some just come back around faster than others, but, if you're here long enough you've seen the questions and maybe even answered them twice or more. The watch question is just one of a few like that. :)

I think I've even duplicated my own threads lol ...senior moments :p

I suppose that we can put it down to a 'senior moment'. :)
