Just in case anyone is not aware yet what this is all about...

This thread is for people to either offer, or be nominated by another member to go into The HOT Seat, so we can possibly find out more about our friends here.
Once in that 'hot seat' so to speak, the idea is for other members to ask that person questions about their life and interests in general.
Perhaps where they live, do they have pets, do they like a drink, do they go on holidays much, and if so where? I don't really know, as that is for you to decide.
The person will be in the 'Hot Seat' for around 2 days (around 48 hours) answering questions as and when they can.
That's the general thinking anyway.
Please feel free to offer either yourself, or nominate another forum member, who may or may not want to do this of course.
I think that you will all agree that our VickyNightowl, Ameriscot, Ina, Sifuphil, Ralphy, Boozercruiser and Gail.S all did a rather sterling job in answering their particular questions. I for one feel that I know a lot about them than I did before, which is very nice.
So now sitting in The Hot Seat is Lydiag
Lydiag will be strapped in until around 12.00PM GMT on Saturday, which is around 24 hours time.

One question per post per time please.
;)

So.... who is Lydiag?

Is it a middle-aged man with a pot-belly and a string vest, who lies around all day clenching a beer can?

Perhaps a young dollybird with a figure like a Coca-Cola bottle? Is she a fabulously rich lady who likes to keep a couple of 'slaves' at her beck and call, or is she the temporary property of a sugar-daddy?

Hmmm... No doubt we shall find out soon.

Hi Lydiag
And thank you for sitting in The Hot Seat.

Now then, we are all creatures of habit I guess.
At the start of the day after crawling out of bed.
How would you say you spend that first half hour or so?

Oyyyy Hanf.
Behave.
You just nicked my first few questions there! :eek:nthego:

Hanfonius, I have to say if you had put forth such unflattering possibilities of whom I might be it would have made climbing into the hot seat less daunting. After all, no matter what I revealed, it would still be better than what you led people to maybe expect of me.

Hi all!
I live in WI and was dumped on by 10" of snow last night.

I am up and about to have my first cup of coffee.

I work part-time still, teaching. Today was a teacher work day, and it was cancelled because of the snow. I will go in later to put in my 3rd quarter grades and write up some lesson plans for next week.

I'm a gal, and I have worked all my life, no 'sugar-daddy'.

I like a glass of wine now and then-do not drink too much beer anymore.

Not here in the day, so I will not be checking here, usually, until after work!

I am plain old Lydia.

Movie? My whole life is a movie! I think sailing across Lake Michigan, alone at the helm at about 6:00 AM would be a good scene.

I live in a rural area-Pepin is where Laura Ingalls Wilder was born.

I teach grades 4-12.

We will take a driving trip for Easter. Want to see how big the country is? Drive it!

Does that mean you won't be able to answer questions soon Lydiag?
Obviously your driving trip takes absolute priority, and I am sure that we all hope that you have a fabulous time.

Even if I had the fantastic ability to teach, there is no way I would want to have to handle kids teaching them nowadays.
Do you enjoy teaching then?

Well, Gail, I forced myself to resist my ex-husband wanting to come back!

BW-my favorite teacher was Miss Watson (grade 5) because she was the first one who told my parents I was "college material".
I fell into teaching, I had a Spanish degree, I moved back here to be close to my mom after my dad died, and the local school needed a Spanish teacher. I did it for one year, part-time again! And I liked it. I like to see the proverbial light bulb go off.

Hello Lydia.
How do you keep your students interested?
Do you perhaps introduce a new topic with a funny anecdote; or do you maybe reward them with an Easter egg if they've completed assignments/homework?
Whatever you do, have a very happy. relaxing Easter!
