This seems like carrying too far the willingness to share this event. Methinks that some things should remain private, or limited to a very few. However, maybe I am just being an old fogey...
 

Even with the best Lamaze techniques and optimal lighting...birth is a messy, sometimes excruciating experience. Better to have after pictures of Mommy and baby all cleaned up and happy IMHO
 

I think those thing should remain private too, just family and close friends at the most, not plastered all over the internet. I agree with Fur, the after picture can be shared everywhere with everyone.
 
Article I read said she did not know beforehand, but had a sense of humour about it afterwards.

I doubt she would think it funny had she pooped herself while giving birth.
 
Well, I watched the video (fast forwarded through it because I didn't want to waste 45 minutes of the day) and to be quite honest, I don't think it was much of a big deal. As far as I saw, the most revealing images really were her knees in many instances and of course it ended with a little naked, squalling baby laid in her arms as he/she was being wiped down.

One thing I find interesting is the way moms who breastfeed insist 'it's all natural' and 'therefore why can't I nurse in public without worrying about being discrete?' and yet when this shows up on some guys FB page (ostensibly for the sake of their friends and family), all of a sudden it's 'too natural' to be shown. We certainly cherry pick what is acceptable and what isn't don't we?
