I play golf fairly regularly with my friend, who just turned 95. (I'm not teasing) He beats me most of the time. He is amazing. His bowling average is 175. I will not go bowling with him.

I used to think that someday I would be able to shoot my age in golf. But now, I've given up on the thought. Maybe when I hit 105. (If I'm still playing!)

By the way, who was the YOUNGEST golfer to score his age on the PGA tour? (No fair looking it up on the computer!)

We need to stop thinking that "old" is a four letter word. Yes, there are some things that suck about it - like health issues and loss of loved ones, but in so many ways I'm so much more confident. When I'm pouting, I know how to get myself out of it. When someone puts me down, I consider the source. I don't put up with the stuff I used to put up with. This is better.

Stop your whining you young whipper snapper. I'm 83. You ain't seen nothin' yet! :eek:ld:
Welcome aboard, Jerry. You're in the right place. No one can help you adjust better than the maladjusted.
Just kidding. We have a great bunch of intelligent, clever, funny and when things go bad very supportive people on here.

I'm new, too, but hated to start a whole thread over the event. Then I saw my name called! Hello back, Old Person! Hawaii? You lucky guy.

Hi, and I agree, lots of oldies play sport. I play tennis and there are several other players who are well into their 80's. The best thing about our tennis group is that nobody cares if they win or lose, we just enjoy the game and the laughter.
