Drug Company Epi Pen Price Increase-HUGE

It's price gouging, obviously.

The injector technology goes back to the mid 70s. Ephedrine has century old roots so it's not like someone just developed the drug and needs to recoup costs. But as a company or business price increases are part of the game. If they want the taxpayers money for the stocks in schools and government organizations & buildings they should be glad to accept a fixed price. My guess since it's for emergency use only they assumed less would notice a price increase there compared to a drug someone takes daily.

CEO of Mylan is the daughter of senator Joe Manchin West Virginia. A possible inquiring raises questions of potential conflicts if she is called to testify/justify price increase. Mylan has contributed to Manchin's campaign since 2010 but they give to both parties.

Also Mylan did a tax inversion a few years ago putting headquarters in the Netherlands. Bernie Sanders noted they dodge taxes and raise prices at the same time along with benefiting from lobbied for legislation recommending schools keep epi pens in schools in 2013.

There were meetings between the White House and Big Pharma in 2009 where concessions were made on Obama Care to get Big Pharma's support. That included fixed pricing on Medicare/Medicaid reimbursements like the VA does. And they kept imports/reimports an issue or lack there of to stifle foreign price competition.
