White Football Players at Idaho High School Raped Black Disabled Teammate With Hanger

Sickening. I hope the kids involved are punished to the max. I think we need laws to protect some of these disabled kids to make it a serious crime to do harm to them--physically or emotionally. (taunting or bullying) I hate to hear stories like this--it is mean, cruel and criminal. Very sad. A child already having to deal with challenges and something so dreadful happens like this, so unfair.

Some of these high school football teams seem to fester this warped/sick behavior. There was a state champion team in New Jersey I think where several players sodomized under class men. The coach knew and was fired. Yet many player parents begged the school not to fire the coach. This Idaho incident has all bad things-perversion, racism and/or ignorance/intolerance.

Where are the parents of these animals? What a sad, sick world we live in.

Parents are busy living life vicariously through their children's football career. And in denial.

Sayerville was the city in New Jersey that had a national sodomizing scandal they wrote off as hazing. The parents were more vociferous about the program being cancelled and coach being fired than the acts themselves.

The defense in Idaho case is trying to explain this away as a wedgie given to the victim as prank along with someone seeing a player simulate sex. At the same time they say things like 'the person that inserted the hanger' trying to deflect from the main participants.

I hope they round 'em all up and throw away the key! Surely medical evidence can confirm or deny the coat hanger part.

There is absolutely no excuse -- NONE -- for this kind of behavior. I hope their parents are very proud.

When I see these stories of high school athletes sodomizing or raping players and/or others it makes me wonder if that's how Sandusky got away with his crap for so long because too many from the football culture in Penn State have seen those acts before some even accepted as a ritual/hazing. Creepy and disgusting.

A Texas high school began building a $60 million football stadium. So, the neighboring community decided to build an $80 million stadium. For HIGH SCHOOL sports!!!!! Our Nation's education system goes lacking for funds and instead of pumping up the children's education they toss millions at sports stadiums. Is it any wonder why we are graduating criminals... why we are graduating kids who cannot read or write... as long as they can throw or catch a football? Is it any wonder why high school coaches are paid more than superintendents or principals?

Teachers are threatened with career ending firings if they fail athletes. Teachers in our State have been legislated out of contract negotiations, tenure, and any right to a hearing if fired. Education dollars have been cut significantly at the State level. We have one of the most significant exodus of teachers from our State of any State in the Union. But, we can pay high school football and basketball coaches hugemongous salaries.

Sheesh..........

Is it really important the players were white and the victim was black? Would it have been acceptable if they were all the same race?

I doubt race was THE motivator and will probably find there are more victims on the team especially from hazing if not rape. Being a senior and senior on team the suspect is power tripping along with displaying his perversity. Grumpy pointed out the status high school football gets now a days I'd bet if you look you find similar behavior on many football teams, a story broke around here over the summer that football team hazing rituals included sodomizing. Take away the special status of any sport and this behavior would be cut in half I'd bet.

I happened in Idaho, it was covered in Idaho. What is alarming??

BTW it did go coast-to-coast, LA Times and Washington Post.
