Do You Like Getting Gift Cards As Gifts?

I like them if they are from a store I like to shop. My husband and kids will give me gift cards to my two favorites...Home Depot and Lowes. But I find myself holding on to them to wait and buy something that will "last". I don't like to use them for everyday items like grass seed, light bulbs, etc. I have a Cheese Cake Factory Gift Card that is a couple years old and I don't think I will ever use. We do not have a store near us. I guess I should use it online. I bet it has messed up their bookkeeping!

You should check out whether that card is still good. Some of them expire after a certain amount of time has passed. You should use it for something, as not to use it is just a windfall for the store -- they've already got the money.

The only one I ever got was a birthday gift card for Lowes once. I happened to be needing some things from there at the time. Didn't save it for anything special. The person who gave it to me was a very practical person, and thought that was a great idea. :) I was lucky.

Barnes and Noble.com with a funny card and I will love you forever!

Side note-my wishlist is so very diverse even my kids couldn't guess most titles. Let me pick and I am a happy camper:D

I don't get gift cards that often, but if it's for a store I would shop in, a movie theater or restaurant, I'm happy to get them. We usually exchange small Christmas gifts with a neighbor of ours, and last year he gave us a gift certificate to the Texas Road House, steakhouse. We enjoyed a nice rack of ribs and just had to pay a small amount over the gift card limit.

I love gift cards. They're so practical and I use them all the time when I receive them. I love Whole Foods, Starbucks and Macys. Great idea the gift card. And it's easy peasy for the shopper too. Win/win situation. :love_heart:
