The Top Ten All Time Bestsellers

I've read And Then There Were None and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I started to read Harry Potter and The Hobbit, but I didn't like them.

I've managed to avoid them all, but I think I'll track down used copies of The DaVinci Code and She. The rest, not so much. There's a great little used book store in Hilo. I'll start my quest their. If that fails, Amazon.

Loved The Little Prince. One of my favorite quotes, about the taming of the fox: “You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.”

The only other I've read was Tale of Two Cities, long ago, but remember it most for the movie, with Ronald Colman.

The only way I can imagine The Dream of the Red Chamber sold 100 MILLION copies is if every reader in China was required to buy a copy (it's five volumes long, as it is twice as long as War and Peace and has over 300 main characters). I had enough trouble with War and Peace.......I'm not sure I'm capable of keeping 300 characters straight. The article also said that it was hard to translate into English and was virtually unknown outside China.

I saw one of the older She movie versions. I "dabbled" in the Hobbit but couldn't get into it. I will have to admit that I read the Cliff Notes version of A Tale of Two Cities for a college lit class (I made a B!).

The rest.....no.

Fifty Shades, I read a chapter, thumbed through the rest looking for the juicy parts, rolled my eyes and returned it to the library.

The Da Vinci Code, the movie was better.

I forgot to mention, I have read one or two on the list, just not fond of these list for judging a worthy book to read. :D And There There Were None and Da Vinci Code, I read eons ago; probably read Tale of Two as part of required reading in HS English Lit, but, it possible we skipped it.

What we were required to read in high school literature would make a good topic. All I can remember is how awfully boring Silas Marner was, and wished we could have more interesting assignments.
